🌿#PlantHealth is key to resilient forests. Why?
Healthy trees in forests are better able to resist and recover from threats such as pests, diseases and climate-related stress.
This supports long-term sustainability and help ensure they can continue providing essential ecosystem services that people and nature depend on.
Healthy forests = resilient forests 🌍🍃

🌍 Why long-term air pollution monitoring matters 🌱
For over 40 years, the UNECE Air Convention has been generating unique, long-term datasets that help us understand how air pollution affects our health, waters, forests, and ecosystems — and how smart policies can make a real difference.
🔬 Last week in Windermere, UK (5–7 May 2026), experts from ICP Waters and ICP Integrated Monitoring came together to share the latest scientific findings from across the UNECE region — from upland waters in the UK to subarctic and high mountain lakes, and case studies from the Republic of Moldova and Armenia.
Their message was clear:
✅ Long-term monitoring provides unique insights into air pollution’s harmful impacts and ecosystem recovery after emission reductions
✅ It helps track links between air pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss
✅ Open and accessible data are key for tackling future environmental challenges and for better environmental policymaking
Long-term science. Real-world impact. Cleaner air for all.
