#UncoolGallery_SoloShowOpenCall Uncool Gallery presents Measures, a solo exhibition by Campbell Brod, hosted at Lista Studios in Brooklyn. Measures uses drawing as a structure for art-thinking, investigating how measurement becomes form through the relationship between tool, surface, and spatial perception. Working from the language of architectural drafting, Brod examines how legibility is produced, interrupted, or displaced. The exhibition brings together drafted drawings, MDF works, sketchbooks, projection media, drawing instruments, and modular display structures. Across these works, the drafted line appears as a mark of measurement and as a residue of movement, calibration, and time. Measures is presented as part of Uncool Gallery’s Solo Show Open Call, a quarterly curatorial project supporting artists through exhibitions, features, and dialogue. Through this project, the selected artist receives a $1,000 stipend and a solo exhibition developed with Uncool Gallery. More details via link in bio. #UncoolGallery_Winter2026Cohort Alice Barreras I Will Show You My Body as Something New, 2025 Acrylic and colored pencil on a wooden decorative tray 12 1/2 × 6 × 2 in | 31.8 × 15.2 × 5.1 cm "I Will Show You My Body as Something New draws from Celtic myth, where birds are closely connected to humans as companions, heralds, or alternate forms of the self. This painting places a bird beside a child on a table, emphasizing their shared presence rather than transformation between the two subjects. The bird is not separate from the body, but part of how the body is understood. The work considers the body as something relational and changeable, revealed through closeness to the animal rather than division." This work is now available on Artsy through Uncool Gallery. #UncoolGallery_Winter2026Cohort Mary Hayes Into the Woods, 2023 Oil on canvas 42 × 45 × 1 1/2 in | 106.7 × 114.3 × 3.8 cm "'Into the woods' tells the story of an odyssey—a search for home in a world undergoing seismic change. This painting is part of a lifelong collaboration with members of the artist's family. Models pose in scenarios inspired by teen thriller, teen sleuth, adventure, and sci-fi genres. Through these familiar tropes, gesture and facial expression portray the individual's personal journey within society as a whole, addressing issues such as social isolation, human intransience, and the climate crisis."
