The ropes present in many of my recent works are handmade, objects born of meditative practice, constructed from bits and pieces, some kind of memory made real.
Within larger works, they become a kind of living drawn mark, like a writhing, expansive brushstroke, slowed to a crawl. On their own, they carry a quieter weight.
