Working as a large group, Eléonore, Mélina, Sokona, Fahim, Bernard, Dylan, Dafé, Jordan and Christian followed an incredible trajectory during the Game Changer (Carton Blanc) workshop. They started with something familiar and step-by-step were able to imagine and make something more complex and layered, involving their full body and mind.
The participants started with a simple idea: map their day center as a board game, including real objects of their daily lives and imaginary ones. Gaining an ease in making, the scale was blown up, taking one of the rooms on the board, tracing it at scale 1:1 on the floor and imagining large objects to fill it. The only restriction was that the objects move.
All the objects were brought outside and connected with colored lines to form a long loop. At their own pace, each participant walked the loop one or more times, making objects move or moving around objects they had themselves created. Literally and figuratively the loop was completed: a full week of design, making and movement.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with
@villettemakerz which provided space, material support and expertise to help make this happen. 17 participants were given access to tools and materials that have nothing to envy to a professional design project. They were treated as creators. The objects they made are an embodiment of their abilities and provide a positive understanding and experience of neurodivergence. The materials provided were all salvaged, recycled and donated, including some by
@muto_event .
