Kano isn’t just another big city—it has some qualities that you rarely find in big cities across the world . Not many places can combine history, culture, religion and economic life in quite the same way Kano does.
So we were in Kano for the 4th graduation ceremony of TAFTA and it was quite an amazing experience! The joy on the faces of the participants graduating was quite heartwarming.
With the support of the Mastercard foundation, and the visionary leadership of our founder Bolanle Austen-Peters, TAFTA has over 65000 young people predominantly female across Kano, Ogun and Lagos states.
The Kano visit was also an opportunity to rub minds with our partners, community leaders and stakeholders, culminating in a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of Kano State. @tafta_academy

What was the reception of Nigerians to theatre 18 years ago and what’s it like now ? Well we heard from Joseph Umoibom who has almost 2 decades worth of experience in the space serving as theater management executive for both @terrakulture and @bapproduction . He shared this at the The Lagos International Theater Festival which held at the Muson Center , Onikan and featured 20 plays from Nigeria, South Africa and America, pulling in thousands of theatre lovers.
