10,000 of you. We’re honestly speechless. 🙏✹ When we first discovered Ulpotha—that magical village hidden in the Sri Lankan jungle where time seems to move differently - we knew we had to share it with the world. But we never imagined this many of you would fall in love with it too. 10,000 souls who understand that true luxury isn’t about thread counts and champagne (though we love those too). It’s about fireflies lighting your path to dinner. It’s about yoga in an open-air sala as monkeys play in the trees above. It’s about swimming in a lake, eating food grown in soil you can see from your hut. To everyone who’s trusted us to guide you toward retreats that actually transform - not just relax: thank you. 🍃đŸȘ· To those who’ve shared your Ulpotha stories, your sunrise photos, your “this place changed my life” messages: thank you. To the ones still dreaming, still scrolling, still wondering if this kind of magic is real: it is, and we can’t wait to help you find it. Ulpotha taught us that the best things in life are simple: community, nature, movement, real food, and genuine connection. You’ve taught us that there’s a whole community of people hungry for exactly that. Here’s to 10,000 more seekers, dreamers, and wanderers finding their way back to themselves. 🌿 What was your first thought when you discovered Ulpotha? Tell us in the comments, we love hearing your stories. 👇

Being in the present moment at Ulpotha is an important part of the @ulpotha experience. Many of you come here for a digital detox and to simply be. That is the beauty of Ulpotha. đŸȘ·đŸŒ± #yogaretreat #ulpotha #srilankaretreat #digitaldetox

There are no rules at @ulpotha - if you don’t feel like doing yoga, no problem, if you want to be on your own, that’s fine too and if you want to practice yoga on the paths go ahead! â˜șđŸȘ·đŸŒ± #ulpotha #hereandnow #presentmomentawareness #yogaretreat

Showers at @ulpotha are shared. Most of them are outside surrounded by nature đŸŒ± and birdsong. The water is fresh and cold but you can always head to the Ayurveda centre for a hot shower by prior arrangement. #yogaretreat #srilankatravel #ulpotha #ayurveda

We have just 11 adobe huts at @ulpotha - mostly twin, some triple. You can choose to have a hut all to yourself for an additional supplement but when you book you’ll be allocated to share a hut with another guest (same sex). No windows, no doors just a lovely breeze blowing through. Mosquito nets and oil lamps are set up early evening ready for your return after supper. You’ll go to bed early, sleep like a baby and rise with the birds. #yogaretreat #onlyatulpotha #ulpotha #ayurvedaeveryday #srilankatourism

July 19 - August 2, 2026 | Yin & Yang Yoga with @oliviahealingyoga Insight Yoga is a rich intersection of Yin and Yang styles of Yoga, informed by Buddhist Mindfulness and Psychology. Olivia is a long-term student of Sarah and Ty Powers and a deep Dharma Practitioner. Her passion is sharing Buddha Dharma in practical ways and connecting people, as much as possible, to the natural world. “Thousands of tired, nerve shaken, over-civilised people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; wildness is a necessity”. (John Muir 1901) “We are part of the Earth, and it is part of us. We love this Earth as a newborn loves its mother’s heartbeat.” (Chief Seattle 1854). The tragedy is that so many have lost this deep and essential connection. For this reason, Olivia is thrilled to be invited to teach at Ulpotha. Each session will be an invitation to slow down and dive deep into Buddhist Mindfulness, as a Path of Awakening. Olivia’s teaching is meditational and strengthening, as well as grounding and restorative. Inclusivity is at the heart of her teaching style. She has been teaching since 1998 and is able to meet diversity and a wide range of ability within a single class. #ulpotha #yinyoga #insightyoga #yinandyang

21 June - 5 July with @malaika.darville đŸŒ±đŸȘ· Originally from Canada, Malaika is now based in Bali 🌮from where she travels the world to teach and dance. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience both on and off the mat to inspire those on the path of self-transformation. Embodying the deeper philosophy of yoga as a marriage between mind, body, and spirit, at @ulpotha she will teach both in the yoga shala and take advantage of all the beautiful natural environments around us. She not only brings a powerful yet fluid yoga practice to her students, she also encourages you to deeply listen to your body’s different needs and learn how to move from the inside out to create more space, ease, and grace both on the mat and in your everyday life. Each morning in Ulpotha she will lead you through a deep, slow, fluid, soft yet strong yoga practice to stretch the body and calm the mind based on the 5 Cardinal Elements that are the foundation of all Vedic Teachings. Focusing on flow, alignment, body awareness, and expansion to cultivate grace, she will encourage you to respect and listen to your own body using a holistic approach to yoga as a way of being. Afternoon sessions will vary between Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Somatic Dance Sessions. Dance is a huge part of the Vedas and Hindu culture. She will guide you to play with this energy to create more liberation in the body. #ulpotha #vedicmeditation #somaticmovement #yogaretreat #srilankatravel
