The search is on for a new president of the @uofilsystem , and Liz Aquino (left) was selected as one of only three faculty members from UIC to serve on the search committee. Dr. Aquino is the UIC Nursing associate dean for academic affairs. Also serving on the committee is UIC Nursing alumna Mary Maryland, PhD ’94 (right), as the UIC Alumni Association representative.

The final lap: Students in Urbana completed the trifecta of 2026 pool jumps on Tuesday afternoon. Congrats to every one of our UIC Nursing-Urbana grads!
The unique joy and camaraderie expressed in the pool jump experience is impossible to describe. It's a rite of passage here, and it's so special to watch another class join the ranks of those who've plunged before as part of this 40+-year-old tradition.

We asked nursing students in the lobby of UIC Nursing’s Chicago campus to send Nurses Week wishes to the nurses who inspire them. We heard shout-outs to UI Health nurses, clinical instructors, night shift nurses—and lots of family members (we love a multi-generational nursing family)!
We’re so grateful for the care nurses provide every day, and we hope you know just how much you're appreciated.
Chicago's turn! Nearly 100 seniors took the traditional plunge yesterday. So many students took part that they had to leap in two separate waves (pun intended), which actually feels like the most on‑brand way for nurses to celebrate: organized chaos with a splash (also intended) of teamwork. Thanks to @Fox32Chicago , @CBSChicago and @Univision for helping us send this proud, joyous moment rippling (accidental, but it's staying) throughout Chicagoland. We celebrated our soon-to-be graduates with pinning ceremonies on all three of our BSN campuses: Chicago, Springfield and Urbana. This time-honored tradition marks the completion of the nursing program and the official entry into the profession. Congrats to the Class of 2026!

Students on our Springfield campus got a chance to "de-stress" before final exams with goat and puppy yoga, courtesy of @willowcityfarm . It was tree pose mixed with puppy and goat snuggles on a beautiful spring day in Springfield. Not baaaaad (sorry, couldn't resist). Good luck, students!
