At the heart of everything that I build is the idea of gathering and community.
Creating spaces where art, conversation, and people can intersect meaningfully.
So I am holding tight to the energy from this lovely evening.
Deeply grateful for the women, the interactions, the art, and the gentle lift of bubbly that filled the room.
A beautiful close to Women’s Month.

As March ends, I am celebrating the tidings experienced this Women’s Month with my “wonder woman wall” - an ode to beauty, femininity and strength.
Cheers to all the amazing queens who give and who gain through creating, curating, collecting and enjoying creativity.
Mama, I made it into the Arctic World Archive and it’s definitely one for the history books!
On February 27th, the Arctic World Archive in Svalbard, Norway, received its first-ever Nigerian deposit, and I’m beyond honoured to have been part of the delegation for this global milestone✨
It’s amazing to know that several inspiring and impactful Nigerian histories are now tucked away in a mountain vault near the North Pole.
To think that fruits of my decades-long work in the arts and culture alongside a special selection of Nigeria’s cultural treasures are now preserved in a digital vault for future generations… it’s just so surreal and I am still pinching myself.
Huge gratitude to Piql Nigeria, the National Archives of Nigeria (NAN), and the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) for the invite, and heartfelt thanks to Nze Ed Emeka Keazor for the emphatic nomination that made this happen 🫶🇳🇬
God bless Nigeria.
It’s my first post of 2026, so I can still say Happy New Year my loves ✨🌸
I thought to kick off the year with some flowers and a lot of gratitude...and a little throwback to my last birthday which is still super special and memorable.
This year is about abundance, softness, intuition and intention. About (re)arranging life gently, letting things unfold, and embracing the seasons we’re in.
Sharing this random flower power moment as a reminder that every day is a birthday, every day is a lovely day, and it is ALWAYS a good time to share love and joy.
P.S. Enjoy this bouquet deconstruction + reassembly — please do try this at home 😉🥂
Dear world,
2025 has been nothing short of beautiful 🫶
A huge thank you to you all for being part of yet another journey round the sun. We wish you all the love and light that this season and the new year have to offer.
Happy new year's eve!
2026 hello!
#gratitude 🌹
On October 4th, we had the joy of hosting the International Day of the Girl Child 2025 celebration in collaboration with the International Women’s Society Nigeria (IWS Nigeria) at The Wheatbaker.
It was a truly special gathering bringing together bright young girls from four secondary schools for a day of inspiration, learning, and creativity. From career talks and conversations about purpose to a guided tour of the art exhibition at The Wheatbaker, the day reminded us just how powerful it is to invest in the next generation.
I’m deeply thankful to The Wheatbaker team for their partnership and generosity in making the space and hospitality available, and to IWS Nigeria for their continued commitment to empowering women and girls.
It was a privilege and honour for me & @bloomartlagos to be the host-sponsor of this event and to share in such a meaningful day.
May we continue to create more spaces where young people can be shown what’s possible and step boldly and purposefully into the future.
The always wonderful Oyelami on the wall, gorgeous Adlan candles scenting the air and very happy conversations in the atmosphere.
It was an amazing experimental evening of olfactory, visual and musical expressions last Thursday at the Bloom Art Gallery ‘Sip and Shop’ event.
The Muraina Oyelami salon exhibition continues until the 13th of December 2025 and the incredible candles from Adlan are now available (exclusively) at Bloom Art thanks to Ugoma.
Visit us soon.
Let’s enjoy it all people - art, scents, love and life.
♥️🫶🏽🎨💃🏾♥️
Honoured and Thankful.
It has been deeply humbling to be recognised by people I’ve long drawn inspiration from, elders, collaborators, and fellow builders in this journey of creativity and purpose.
Recently, I was honoured with two recognitions: one for contributions to Heritage Preservation by PIQL and a Lifetime Achievement Award for Arts and Culture by The Nsibidi Institute.
To be recognised by one’s peers and elders for years of consistent work is truly humbling. I remain thankful for the chance to serve, create impact, and build meaning through art and culture and I look forward to shaping new projects and spaces that help others across Nigeria and Africa dream, create and reimagine futures.

Ugoma Ebilah is an art curator, gallerist and cultural convener at the forefront of shaping contemporary discourses in African art in the broadest sense. As a cultural producer, she is guided by notions rooted in the Igbo ideological concept of the ‘Obi’, where pivotal socioeconomic change is best realised via the lens of the homestead, both real and imagined, and art acts as a catalyst for structural renewal, ideological innovation and societal transformation.
