The funeral at Awka Etiti took place yesterday. @officialuncle.p laid his father to rest.
Unfortunately, I could not attend because I was away at UNN on the invitation of the Department of Theatre Arts for a workshop on the adaptation of folklore into film.
Today, however, I went to perform the required rites.
In our Igbo tradition, one who was absent at a funeral due to another pressing obligation or important engagement can always return at a later date to pay their respects and fulfil the necessary rites.
May the soul of Pa Obi continue to rest in peace.

Listening to the President of Botswana speak on a forensic audit to track stolen public funds… I see hope.
I see a nation choosing accountability.
I see leadership treating public wealth as a sacred trust.
I see a future anchored on discipline and responsibility.
And then one question rises, louder than the rest:
Nigeria… when?
When will accountability become our culture?
When will public office stop being a gateway to private wealth?
When will transparency become strength, not fear?
The answer is not in time. It is in will.
Nigeria… when?
Even when we are surrounded by evil minded and acting people.... is it ever possible for evil to triumph over good?
Find out what became of the delusional physically challenged man who feels he must have everything.

Can someone genuinely help me understand this global resistance to Arsenal? Why does it feel like so many people would rather see Arsenal lose than win?
From the standpoint of those of us who are loyal supporters of Enyimba, it simply does not add up. It makes no sense to us.
Why would anyone prefer Pep Guardiola to secure a seventh title in ten years, instead of witnessing Arsenal lift one after a 22-year wait? If Arsenal wins, does it take anything away from you?
Football is built on the idea that you win some and lose some. It thrives on competition, on cycles, on long-awaited moments of triumph.
So what exactly is driving this sentiment?
What is really going on?
