The Dodd Galleries presents a series of new paintings by MFA candidate Phoebe-Agnès Mills, titled “Ekstasis.” Influenced by accounts of mystical visions and modernist theories of profane illumination, these works consider how the spiritual might be sensed within the material world. Rather than seeking revelation through apparition or fantasy, they invite a slowed, temporal encounter in which the viewer becomes aware of their own position in the membrane between presence and absence, vitality and decay. Join the community at the Lamar Dodd School of Art Thursday February 5 from 5-7 pm to enjoy artworks spanning animation, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, scientific illustration, and more in the following shows: Derek Larson: Très Mall, Episodes 1-8 Derek Larson: Made in Mexico: The Anti Communist Cartoons of Dibujos Animados S.A. Phoebe-Agnès Mills: Ekstasis 35th Annual Student Scientific and Medical Illustration Juried Exhibition the green glass door Quantum Castle All shows are on view through March 20!

Now on view at @uga_doddgalleries through November 14 Bringing together three major series — The Gray Line, Manifest, and Dark Waters — Potter examines how systems of power take hold in both the body and the landscape. Shot across sites charged with history — from West Point to the mythical South — Potter’s work moves between tenderness and tension, asking what it means to inhabit a nation’s inherited narratives. 📷 Installation views by Lindsey Kennedy (@lindsekennedy ) Learn more: art.uga.edu/exhibition/kristine-potter-the-body-politic #KristinePotter #TheBodyPolitic #SashaWolfProjects #LamarDodd #UGAarts #ContemporaryPhotography #WomenInPhotography #AmericanLandscape
