Our Spring 2026 Commencement Speaker was in the shoes of our graduating students 14 years ago.
Isobel Mills BFA ‘12 is a luxury textile/wallpaper designer and fiber artist known for her distinctive, texture-driven approach to pattern and form. She is the founder of ISOBEL, a luxury fabric line carried in leading trade showrooms nationwide, and creates highly intricate fiber artworks collected for their dimensionality and craftsmanship.
With early experience under Kelly Wearstler and Isabelle de Borchgrave, Isobel developed a deep appreciation for material and process. Influenced by her background in ceramics, she brings a sculptural perspective to everything she creates—whether fabric or fine art. Her work is defined by a balance of playfulness and restraint, resulting in pieces that feel both expressive and enduring.
Isobel graduated from the Lamar Dodd School of Art with her BFA in textile design in 2012. In 2024, the University of Georgia recognized Isobel as a member of the 40 under 40 class of young alumni, celebrated for leading the pack in their industries and communities.
Isobel currently serves on the Lamar Dodd School of Art’s Board of Advisors with two dozen fellow art champions, supporting the School in its strategies and growth.

Across the semester, they developed practical strategies that connect microclimate, stormwater management, foodscapes, soundscapes, streetscapes and health to real site conditions. Reviewers at this critique presentation will see clear concepts and iterative site plans, along with thoughtful plant combinations that balance aesthetics, seasonality, and ecological benefits while supporting comfortable, high-performing campus spaces.
