🎭 JUDGE ANNOUNCEMENT 🎭 Mikey Jay-Heath We’re excited to welcome Mikey Jay-Heath to the judging panel for UDO Dubai Open 🔥 Originally booked for our UDO Middle East Championship, we’re delighted that Mikey is still able to join us for this event 🙌 Mikey will be judging both solo and team categories 👊 A West End performer from London, Mikey professionally trained at The Urdang Academy and has performed in major productions including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Barnum, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Now based in Dubai, Mikey is the Managing Director of @urdanginternational_dubai , where he is successfully implementing vocational training programmes across schools in the region. Mikey is also the driving force behind another leading regional competition in the UAE, @gpaalliance 🔥 Alongside this, Mikey continues to perform, choreograph and MC at high-level corporate events, working with leading entertainment companies including Energie Entertainment, Diverse Choreography, Be More Than, Bare Face, Disconekt’D and QArt. 🔥 UDO BATTLE ARENA The UDO Battle Arena brings high-energy, DJ-led freestyle battles to the floor — where dancers go head-to-head, showcasing musicality, individuality and performance under pressure. Delivered within a streamlined format, this is designed to create an engaging and dynamic experience for both dancers and audience. 🔹 BATTLES All battles will run in an All Styles format, with dancers adapting to music selected live by the DJ. Categories include: • 1v1 – Under 12 | Under 16 | Over 16 • 2v2 – Open Age Battles will begin with pre-selection rounds, progressing through to knockout stages and finals, where dancers go head-to-head and respond in real time. 🔹 JUDGING CRITERIA Judges will be looking for: • Musicality • Individuality • Creativity • Confidence • Ability to respond in the moment 🌍 QUALIFICATION CONTEXT Due to the postponement of the UDO Middle East World Qualifier, we are unable to deliver full individual battle style categories at this event. This edition will operate under an All Styles battle format, meaning styles such as Hip Hop, Locking, Breaking, Popping and House will not be separated into individual categories. 🌍 WILD CARD QUALIFICATION To ensure individual styles are still recognised within this format: 👉 Judges will award Wild Card Qualifications to standout dancers in the following styles: • Hip Hop • Locking • Breaking • Popping • House These will be awarded to dancers who demonstrate exceptional ability, authenticity and performance within their chosen style. 🏆 AWARDS • UDO Dubai Open Champion • UDO Dubai Open Runner-Up Titles will be awarded in each battle category.
