Hip-hop bekijk je niet van een afstandje. Daar hoor je middenin te staan. Van ππ π/π¦ ππ π¦ππ’ ππππ staat het Parktheater in Eindhoven opnieuw volledig in het teken van de ππ«πππ§ πππ§π¬πππ ππ§. Een driedaags festival waar de rauwe energie van de straat het theater binnenstormt. Of je nu jaren danst of nog nooit een cypher hebt gezien, iedereen is welkom.
Het festival wordt georganiseerd door Stichting Sample Culture, in samenwerking met Parktheater Eindhoven, Open Your Mind, Holy Funk, 040 Grounds, G.E.A.R., Bassment Sessions, Jam de la Fem en vele anderen uit de nationale en internationale danscommunity.
Urban Dansdagen brengt drie dagen vol beweging, talent en community. Je kunt onder andere verwachten:

Join the tape art workshop with @tapetypo
Up for a creative workshop during Urban Dansdagen? Join the tape art workshop with Valentin Alfrey. You dive into the fundamentals of typography, using washi tape as your medium. Starting in your sketchbook, you explore and stylize the basic parameters of letterforms, build whole alphabets, and create lettering compositions that gradually expand across the walls of Parktheater's foyer. No prior experience needed. The tape guides you.

@breakingleague_ is bringing a true global icon to Eindhoven! None other than @kastet316 will be hosting an exclusive Masterclass for the next generation of breakers. In this 90-minute session, Kastet will dive into flow, creativity, and the mental focus required to compete at the highest international level.

MOTION LAB is back! On both Saturday and Sunday, there are workshops you can sign up for.
@motion_laboratory_ is a Netherlands-based annual program curated by @Alesya_mij . It focuses on developing dance improvisation skills and deepening artistic research. Over two days, you will take both physical and theory-based workshops led by international guest teachers from diverse artistic backgrounds.
On Saturday, May 23, the day kicks off with a workshop led by @lea.ved who will also judge the Open Your Mind Battle right after.
On Sunday, May 24, the program features seven hours of movement practice guided by international guest artists. The day closes with a jam session and live electronic music, where you get to experiment with newly acquired skills alongside other artists.
Spots are limited. When you purchase a ticket for Saturday, Sunday, or the full weekend, you can add a Motion Lab ticket separately. Link in bio.
Hitting the festival on Saturday? Make sure to stop by the main foyer. From noon, G.E.A.R. Presents is taking over with a jam session open to all. In between, there are workshops in popping, locking, waacking, hip-hop, and house dance. Late afternoon, things wrap up with an exhibition battle.

During Urban Dansdagen there are obviously workshops. Street Styles 101 brings five of them, for beginners and for dancers who want to try something new (age 7 to 80).
There are five styles. Popping, locking, waacking, hiphop and house dance. Each workshop runs about 50 minutes and is taught by someone who really knows their thing.
The workshops take place on Saturday and Sunday. Want to join? Make sure to sign up in advance! First purchase a ticket, then download the New Dance app. From there, select the festival, choose Street Styles 101 and register for the dance style you want to follow. And of course, feel free to do them all.
