At the University Championships 2026, @ucdbc and @ucdlbc have won:
- Senior Mixed 8+
- Senior Men’s 8+
- Novice Mixed 8+
- Novice Men’s 8+
On top of winning the first edition of both mixed events, UCDBC have also taken home the Wylie Cup for winning 2 of the 4 Men’s 8+ races.

UCDLBC head to Lough Rinn for University Championships 2026. Due to weather conditions only 8+ boats will be racing. It is still guaranteed to be a fun day of racing with both Novice and Senior mixed racing with crew members from UCDLBC and @ucdbc .

Ahead of the racing last Saturday, several crews took to the Liffey in Islandbridge in a series of head to head reserve races with their trinity counterparts.
The Senior Women's 8+ took an early lead in their race, beating Trinity's crew by three lengths. The Novice Men and Senior Men also took home a win, while the Novice Women unfortunately lost after a tense battle in the first 500m. Finally, the Senior Mixed 8+ took home a clean win against the combined forces of DUBC and DULBC.
The crews showed technical skill and racing prowess on their home water which is marking a preview of the weeks to come, especially as we prepare for University Championships in a few weeks.

Saturday morning saw both Men’s and Women’s Boat Clubs take to the upper Liffey for the fixtures.
The day started strong with an incredible performance from our novice women’s crew. The girls brought the Sally Moorehead Trophy home with a time of 8:05.2, beating last year’s winning time by 10 seconds.
Unfortunately, our Senior Women’s crew lost the Corcoran Cup after Trinity put up a strong performance over the course of the race. However, the crew put continued pressure on their opposition and this performance will only stand to improve as the season goes on.
We first want to congratulate @ucdbc on their phenomenal wins in both the Novice and Senior Men’s Races, which brought home the Dan Quinn Shield and continued their streak to five wins in the Gannon Cup.
We would like to extend our congratulations and thanks to @duboatclub and @dulbcrowing for both their win and such a great day of racing.

This year’s annual Colours Reserves Races are on this Friday, 20 March 2026. The races follow the Trinity Regatta Course in Islandbridge. Supporters are invited to watch from the path by the Trinity Boathouse or the UCD boathouse.

COLOURS RESERVES
Tomorrow - March 20th - kicks off Colours weekend with both our Seniors and Novices taking on @dulbcrowing in the Colours Reserve races in Islandbridge.
The Novices Women will race first at 17:00.
Followed then by the Novice Men at 17:15.
The Senior Women will race at 17:30 and will be followed by the Senior Men at 17:45. Mixed racing will then take place at 18:00.
All races can be watched from UCD Boat House or Memorial Park. Join us for a fun evening of racing ahead of Saturday!
