What is happening: Effective from Friday, 7th of March, changes to campus traffic and pedestrian routes will take effect as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements in the Student & Sport Amenity Precinct. These changes will impact road access, car parks, and pedestrian routes in the vicinity of Newstead and the Sports Centre. These changes will affect all users of the area and are detailed below: - The roads north and south of Newstead will return to one-way traffic. - A new road and footpath adjacent to the Water Tower and Newstead, bringing users to the Richview and Newstead area will open. - The old road and footpath at the rear of the Sports Centre and National Hockey Stadium will permanently close. - Access to car park W2 will remain via the Sports Centre roundabout. This car park will permanently close when construction of the Multi-Purpose Performance & Examination Centre (MPPEC) commences later in 2025. - There will be no changes to the S4 bus route and the service provider has been informed of the scheduled changes.
