The weather cleared up perfectly for us to observe a couple of star clusters and gas giants using the 162-year-old Townsend Teece Telescope and our university’s portable C11🔭🌌
Also a huuuuge thank you to our volunteers Ajani and Tait for helping out and providing some great Astronomy knowledge:)
🚨UPCOMING PHYSSOC EVENT🚨 We’re having an observing night at the Townsend Telescope and the C11 in the Christchurch City Arts Centre!
Join us on the 9th of May and make sure to come early to maximise your time on the telescopes. ALSO BRING WARM CLOTHES AND CLOSED TOE SHOES‼️‼️‼️ The Townsend telescope has 60 stairs and a ladder but the C11 will be completely accessible to anyone:) Spaces are limited so SIGN UP VIA THE LINK IN BIO

🍻This is not an event to miss, there will be free refreshments and food, and the best beer olympians racing to the top. The theme is winter olympics so make sure you dress up like you mean it! Think athletes, snow, and a cold beverage. ⛷️
🎟️Everyone who’s attending must register individually with your club through the flicket link but teams can be mixed amongst societies - this is your chance to mix and mingle!
One person from the team must then sign up the team through the google form. No more than 5 people per team.
