Not a perfect lap by any means, but here’s the footage from last week’s Morgan Park event on K Track with @timeattackpaul . Working on the car between sessions, reviewing data, tweaking the tune, remembering to put fuel in it, checking tyre pressures, and actually driving the thing, I’ve always got my hands full on race days. The car rarely needs a spanner put on it, but there are always a few checks—and the occasional intercooler pipe that decides it wants relocating.
Huge thanks to Dad and my partner Jess for getting out to the track, helping wherever they can, and getting me strapped back in safely.
We clipped a safety on one of the back sectors and lost a heap of time with the car just coasting. Watching the footage back has been invaluable. Even though the lap put me well ahead of the average on the day, once I overlaid it with my previous PB, it was clear it wasn’t a great lap overall. But with a bit of commitment through the last couple of corners—and giving the @vitourmotorsport P1s a chance to show off their all-terrain abilities—I managed to turn an average lap into the next PB we’re all chasing.
The latest revisions to the engine package have proven to work a treat, no doubt it boogies for a 3cylinder 1.6L, it still amazes me what limits we have been able to push it to on our track days.
Thanks Team Diversion for the support and Adam for putting in some nights when something needs to just get done!! Sitting in the seat and trusting the boys have the car covered just lets me beat on it with pure confidence.

What a way to start the 2026 @timeattack_qld QR Series. Fresh tune touch up from the wizard @defyperformance the freshest of fresh Vitours from @tyreblitz and some cracking weather. Now I’m not saying @girliehanz does it on purpose, but there is a pattern of her pulling out a substantial chunk of time out of her previous PB’s and handing me the car for the afternoon to suffer an immediate and catastrophic failure 😂😂. Anyone questioning whether the new Vitour Tempesta Sonic can cut it with the established legacy tyre brands, just now technology trumps brand name every day of the week. These are FAST. Hopefully we’ll be back up and running soon after we find a dentist to put some teeth back into the gearbox. Today we ran @timeattackpaul 's QLD time attack series and came away with exactly that. We blew our previous PB on K track away multiple times and ended the day with shaving 2seconds off leaving us with a final result of 1:21.59 and our optimal still shows another second up our sleeve for the future just to keep that taste in our mouth.
Again, this is convincingly the quickest GR Yaris on record on Morgan Park's K Track that we have been able to confirm times for.
Thanks to our entire Diversion Garage team but a special shout out to Adam who went above and beyond after finding a pre turbo exhaust leak and working his magic to make sure the car was ready to head to Morgan Park and not miss the event. With out this team we would not be jumping leaps and bounds ahead on our development both on the GR platform and across the business as a whole.
