Westy Typeface. For a fistful of fonts!
Westy draws on the legacy of wood type, adopting its directness and impactful logic, while subverting its construction rules. Where these historical models rely on definite balance, Westy introduces a controlled instability.
The design of the capitals is based on a deliberately arbitrary distribution of mass. The contrasts do not follow a traditional logic: they are displaced, redistributed, almost dissonant—while remaining rigorously constructed. This internal tension produces forms that are both familiar and unexpected.
The lowercase letters, more compact, provide a solid foundation for the text. Their stability contrasts with the treatment of the rounded forms, in which aggressive, closed curves break the expected continuity. This gesture introduces a form of resistance to reading, without ever compromising it.
Used in capitals, Westy becomes an image: the letter repeats itself, intensifies, and generates a pattern. The word then shifts toward a surface logic, almost ornamental. In standard typesetting, typography regains a more legible function, but retains its internal vibrancy.
The system of weights amplifies these effects. Depending on their depth, the contrasts intensify, altering the perception of forms and their visual impact. Westy thus plays on variations in density to make the reading experience oscillate between stability and tension.
Westy explores a typography of controlled imbalance, where the letter becomes a point of friction between inherited structure and contemporary disruption.

Kern Typeface in use for the last 10th issue of @techuntermagazine

On January 23, 2026, @techuntermagazine landed in Paris during Men’s Fashion Week to unveil the TH10 Anniversary Issue. The evening combined the presentation of TH10, the launch of the TECHUNTER x @poutnikbytilak Continental GORE-TEX Jacket, and a curated showcase of TH10 contributors including @salomon , @hoka , @satisfyrunning , @houdinisportswear , @arthur.lombardo x @kiliacci , and @polymerws . In parallel, a joint moment with @_vexedgeneration_ brought cult archival pieces from the 1995-2005 era to the basement. Big thanks to everyone who came through and shaped the energy – a proper night for technical apparel culture.
