Opening this Friday, 𝑳𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 at ALLGORITHIM House. 𝑳𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 brings together seventeen artists whose practices share a common formal and philosophical proposition: that meaning accumulates. The exhibition takes as its premise the act of layering itself, not as technique alone, but as a way of thinking. Of ideology built upon ideology. Of identity formed through the sediment of experience. Of color and mark arriving on a surface already weighted with intention, already in conversation with everything that came before it. To layer is to refuse resolution. It is to hold contradiction, to allow the underpainting to show through, to let one idea interrupt another without demanding that either surrender. The works in this exhibition operate in that space of productive tension: between the legible and the obscured, the conscious and the subconscious, the personal and the universal. What is revealed is never the whole picture. What is concealed is never entirely gone. Works by Thomas Stokes III, Vincent Lantzy, Connor Meager, Zoë Renait, Jess Kellner, Samuel Elliot Phillips, Piper Olivas, and Katarina Holbrough are presented alongside Dylan Anthony Roworth, Sarah Savior, Gaëthan Henrioux, Adam Brierley, Ricardo Rodriguez, Deb Santangelo, Brad Johns, Austin Santangelo, and Preston Douglas Boyer. Across painting and mixed media, Layered resists singular reading. Each work arrives carrying its own history of marks, revisions, and intentions. Together, they form something less like a group exhibition and more like a conversation that has been ongoing — one the viewer steps into mid-sentence.

Ascension, 2026 Acrylic on canvas 60 × 60 in Stokes is a self-taught painter based in San Antonio, Texas. His practice moves between surrealism and psychological portraiture — deconstructing the human face through organic line, fragmented form, and layered color. Each canvas holds its tension deliberately: chaos and harmony in negotiation, vulnerability and strength sharing the same surface. Ascension will be shown at the 'Layered' group exhibition, opening on May 8th at ALLGORITHIM House.

**EXTENDED to Feb 19** ‘Collaged’ Pleased to announce I’ll be showing work at @allgorithim house in LA Dec 11 🏡 _________________________________ ALLGORITHIM PRESENTS: COLLAGED A Group Exhibition Opening Reception: Saturday , December 13th, 6PM On view December 13th – January 22nd RSVP: [email protected] COLLAGED brings together twelve artists whose practices explore the layered, fragmented, and reassembled nature of contemporary image-making. Presented at ALLGORITHIM House, the exhibition embraces the home as a site of intimacy and reflection, an environment where artwork can be encountered in its truest form, lived with rather than merely observed. Working across painting, drawing, assemblage, and mixed media, each artist approaches collage not only as a technique, but as a way of thinking: a negotiation between memory and material, instinct and composition, the physical and the psychological. In these works, fragments become narratives. Surfaces carry residue, texture, and interruptions. Gestures overlap, images collide, and the boundaries between mediums dissolve. Rather than presenting a unified style, COLLAGED highlights the individuality of each voice, Eli Decker, Armando Franco, Luke Haeger, Jess Kellner, Vincent Lantzy, Alexander Long, Connor Meager, Nicolina Morra, Anthony Padilla, Zoë Renait, Rebekah Rubalcava, and Thomas Stokes III, while revealing the connective threads that emerge when disparate sensibilities coexist within a shared space. Installed throughout ALLGORITHIM House, the exhibition invites viewers to move through rooms, corners, thresholds, and sightlines where works take on new meaning in relation to one another. COLLAGED ultimately underscores the beauty of accumulation: how ideas form through layering, how identities shift through recomposition, and how a home can become a living archive of artists’ visions. An RSVP must be submitted and confirmed in order to secure attendance.

The Promise, 2025 Acrylic on canvas 36 x 36 Inches The Promise is a personal homage to Arnold Böcklin’s Isle of the Dead, reimagined through the surreal and symbolic lens that defines my recent work. The distant funerary island—its rocky formations and solemn cypress trees—echoes Böcklin’s original vision, yet here it is suspended in an ambiguous space, detached from both time and place. Balanced on two organic supports that suggest both fragility and poise, one half of a mask or human face rests below, its expression inscrutable. The deep red cradle bearing the landscape above seems to gaze quietly outward, a witness to the scene’s stillness. By abstracting Böcklin’s imagery, The Promise invites reflection on loss and the delicate, uncertain structures that sustain memory and meaning.

Thomas Stokes III – Personal Strangers, 2025 Original Works on Paper 12 x 9 inches Acrylic and Graphite on 140lb / 300gsm Mixed Media Paper ALLGORITHIM is proud to present Personal Strangers (2025), the debut collection of works on paper by Thomas Stokes III. Known for his surreal, fragmented portraiture and emotive mark-making, Stokes brings his singular visual language to a more intimate format—capturing raw moments of presence, vulnerability, and transformation in this series of original pieces. Each 12 x 9 inch work is created using acrylic and graphite on heavyweight 140lb/300gsm mixed media paper. The result is a delicate balance of gesture and form—where biomorphic figures and haunting silhouettes seem to emerge and dissolve in the same breath. Charms marks a new chapter in Stokes’ practice: tender, direct, and instinctive. These works are not studies but statements—each one imbued with a quiet psychic force. This is the first-ever release of works on paper by Thomas Stokes III. Available exclusively through ALLGORITHIM. We’re pleased to present a new edition release with Thomas Stokes III — a San Antonio-based painter whose fragmented, biomorphic portraiture explores identity, longing, and the thin line between chaos and harmony. Stokes’ figures appear mid-collapse or mid-construction — broken silhouettes stitched together by textured marks and organic rhythm. With a palette rooted in earthy restraint and punctuated by moments of emotional intensity, his work captures the tension of the human psyche in still form. AVAILABLE WORKS 1. Thomas Stokes III in the studio, deep in process on a new painting for his upcoming solo exhibition. Every mark, every layered gesture reflects the emotional excavation at the heart of his work—where surrealism meets self-discovery. These pieces are raw, vulnerable, and unflinchingly honest. Months in the making, each canvas pushes further into the psychological terrain he’s known for. To get on the waiting list, please email [email protected]. #ThomasStokesIII #ALLGORITHIM
