"The Texas State Society of Medical Laboratory Science (SMLS) strives to spread awareness of the medical laboratory scientist profession and the importance of laboratory professionals. SMLS achieves this by hosting and participating in lab events, attending professional conferences, and hosting informational meetings about the major at Texas State University and a future in the profession. Among SMLS’s most recent collaborations include engaging in volunteer work such as Bobcat Build’s Big Event and Bobcat Days on campus. Additionally, SMLS attended the Texas Association for Clinical Laboratory Science (TACLS) convention among other career building and professional events this year."
