To celebrate the launch of my little store, @twilightzone.ph at @komiketph PRIDE (Week 2), I wanted to create something personal to display at my booth. Inspired by my obsession with Akari lamps, I hand-painted one for the very first time. It wasn’t easy, as the washi paper is so thin and delicate but every brushstroke was worth it. The design features corals and marine life, a small tribute to the beauty of the sea.

This piece came together as a mix of their world and mine.
Coffee has always been at the heart of what they do, from the beans and cherries to the tools, and even the little flavor notes that find their way into every cup. I built around that, then slowly wove in some things I naturally gravitate toward. You’ll find insects, a bird, greeneries, and subtle signs of growth throughout the piece.
I’m really grateful to have been trusted with this, especially for something as meaningful as a fifth anniversary. Five years of showing up for the community, crafting drinks people can enjoy and carry with them.
This felt less like just illustrating, and more like piecing together a shared story. Happy 5th @basiscoffeeoutpost 🤎 onwards and upwards.
