A surreal endurance aerobic dance class—a communal celebration, ritual of release and rite of renewal led by performance critter Betty Grumble and DJ HipHopHoe. Artists and soul sisters, Grumble and HipHopHoe harness utopian energies gifted from their own experiences of creativity and queerness. Choreography, music, protest and pleasures blend together in pursuit of restorative energy, that transcends the physical and psychic schedule of the status quo. Grumble and HipHopHoe invite you into the mantric wish of ‘Thank You Body’ as hearts pump and the serotonin builds. This is a personal and political work that combines conflicting emotions of love and grief, rage and empathy to forge a hopeful path to recovery and repair through movement and humour.
