We are still shocked by the terrible news of the sudden passing of our dear mentor Günter Pichler and his beloved dog in a tragic accident last Friday. We are heartbroken having just seen him dance around his studio in Madrid while working on Schubert E-flat with us earlier this month. His influence is unparalleled and our relationship with him grew very close over the past three years - we just didn’t know that this trip to Madrid would be our last with him. The time we had with him was precious, him telling us stories of his legendary career, and demanding nothing short of the highest quality possible of chamber music playing. He will be oh so greatly missed and certainly never forgotten, and he surely lives on through all of us that were blessed, charmed, sometimes terrified, but always so completely supported by him. Our thoughts are with his wife Elfi and his children, and we thank you for everything our dear Professor. We won’t forget your Advice. Günter seemed invincible to us, still running the stairs all the way up to the fifth floor and being so young in spirit. He’d tell us that working together he felt the same age as us: “the audience is old but we are young”. Rest in peace Professor 💔❤️

It is the most beautiful concert hall and a true honour to have had my Piano Trio “Freakshow” performed there by such inspiring musicians. The way The Paddington Trio have fully embodied this piece is a thing of beauty. Special thanks to Culture Ireland for making it possible to go to this concert. Piano Trio No. 1 “Freakshow” is an emotionally wide-ranging exploration of the stars of “The Sideshow”. At times macabre and at times joyful, it is an intriguing suite of curiosities. I shared here earlier last month that I will be starting my own 🎻 class at @rncmlive from next year onwards, which is such a big dream come true for me (!), and already now the audition season is here!👀🩵📣 The first photo is me traveling to NYC just three weeks ago, before we headed from there to China with @paddingtontrio , and the second is the details for the upcoming @rncmlive NYC auditions - you can still send in your late application for any audition dates worldwide, although you’ll only see me in the UK panels this time!🇬🇧 Also, if you’re curious about my teaching, which is such a huge passion of mine originally ignited by my incredible pedagogy teacher @yvonne.frye many years ago, anyone is welcome to listen in for my upcoming 🎻 masterclass at @rncmlive taking place 1.30-4.30pm on 27th November. If you can’t make it that day but would be curious, or if I or any of my friends here knows someone who might like to have a trial lesson or ask me any questions regarding the opportunity of studying at @rncmlive , please don’t hesitate to message me - the official consultation lessons will take place in January 2026 but I’ll be in Manchester, London, Madrid and Helsinki before Christmas & would be so happy to put time aside in any of these places to talk to you or to do some playing together!💌 Finally, from my flight from Beijing, I want to share this insanely gorgeous view we had for a whole week back in New York, doing our morning runs every day around the Central Park Reservoir - how lucky are we (BIG thanks to Karen and Michael!!!) - and more photos to possibly come soon (at least on the @paddingtontrio account!) from China and other exciting places we’ve been to most recently!🌍 What a weird life to feel so at home in so many different places right now.

If you’ve heard us in recent concerts, you may have noticed our new sound: @tuuliahero recently received the incredibly generous loan of this 1676 Goffriller violin through the Beare’s International Violin Society, and it has been such an inspiring addition to our ensemble! Huge thanks to @maja_wegrzynowska for making this happen, we so appreciate it. 🎻 If you’d like to hear us again sometime soon, we’re playing at the Sony Auditorium in Madrid tomorrow and @limf_leicester just next week! 🎶

This is a photo by the best @stephannetang from our most recent family trip to the archipelago, and since I’m in my real element in it I thought it goes well with some heartwarming news I received most recently: I’m going to be taking my violin playing to an even more wholesome place next year by starting as a new Professor of Violin at @rncmlive 🩵 It’s going to be so fun to build my own little bubble in what already feels like one of our homes, teaching chamber music there for a third year now with @paddingtontrio , and to get to share some of the structures and inspirations I really value in my life with other people who also like to play the violin👀💌 If anybody here feels called to join this special community at @rncmlive , there’s still days left to apply for next year and (I checked with the boss!) late applications can be welcomed!🌅 -Tuulia
