Try this rack 13” tom tuning!
@tunebotdrum using the Tune-bot studio to dial in this particular tone on my rack tom and what’s so awesome about it, is capturing the frequencies so I can save them for future reference. Absolutely love this tool.

Here's another of my 'go to' snare tunings, with a medium low tuning I use on this @ludwigdrumshq Acrolite. Getting more fundamental and slightly less overtones down the mic via the trusty @aquariandrumheads Studio X. I much prefer the pure tone of a pre dampened head without muffling as opposed to an undampened head with external muffling. The Studio X model is by far the head I use most often for recording. I have a stockpile of them. Both heads tuned to these Hz using a combination of reference pitch and @tunebotdrum #tunebot #snaretuning #drumtuning #
I didn’t touch the batter head once.
Same drum. Same UV2 up top.
Only thing I changed was the resonant (Evans G1 Clear), and I used the Tune-bot studio to keep everything consistent. @tunebotdrum
Here’s what that actually sounds like:
Reso higher 👉🏼 more sustain, more tone, more sing
Near unison 👉🏼 balanced, focused, controlled
Reso lower 👉🏼 shorter, punchier, drier
Most people keep adjusting the batter trying to fix their sound…
There’s no one “right” tuning—just different sounds depending on what you need.

Next up in my 'go to' snare tunings is a medium high tuning I use on this 14" x 6.5" @ludwigdrumshq Black Beauty. The combination of Die Cast Hoops and Remo Vintage Emperor records beautifully. The @daddarioandco Puresound Custom 24's give more spread and a little additional dark fatness to the sound. They are by far my favourite wires on this drum and I've tried a lot! I've 3 artists I'm recording for next week and this drum is going up at some point for sure. Loving the combination of the @seelectronics T2's and Gemini blended in this mix.Tuned to these Hz using a combination of reference pitch and @tunebotdrum #tunebot #officialsnaregeek #ludwigblackbeauty #snaretuning
I'm starting to document on here some of my 'go to' snare tunings I use when recording. This Ludwig Acrolite Classic really sings at this medium low tuning. The combination of S Hoop batter and Vintage Emperor thickens up the sound down the mic even more. I've used this setup/tuning on a bunch of different songs this year. Tuned to these Hz using a combination of reference pitch and @tunebotdrum

💣This tuning SMACKS! I absolutely love using my tunebot studio to get this snare sound quickly. @tunebotdrum
Shout out to @mattmckenzie93 for this killer CRANKED side snare tuning! If you’re looking to get nothing but absolute crack out of your Ludwig snare I can’t recommend this enough.

22” Kick drum tuning! The batter might be too loose for some but it comes out to be quite punchy with a lot of attack more of a fat sound than a boomy wide sound.

When tuning your resonant head with a tunebot be sure to turn on the high frequency mode to get accurate readings over 400 hz. The “High Filter Mode” (often called “Hi-Range Mode”) on the Tune-Bot Studio extends its frequency detection from the usual 400 Hz up to 450 Hz, essential for tuning high-pitched drums like snare resonant heads; you activate it by holding the FILT button for a couple of seconds until “HI-RANGE” appears, then use the normal filter function (single press) to narrow readings around a set pitch, but remember to reset the filter when switching drums or making major tension changes for accurate readings.
