Free Women Films is excited to announce a training opportunity for 10 Producers and 10 Line Producers! This program is designed to upskill and capacitate emerging talent from across South Africa, with preference given to applicants from underserved provinces (Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, Free State, and Eastern Cape). However, applicants from the KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape and Gauteng are also welcome.

Producers Course:
The Producers classes will run from 9 June to 29 August 2025. Sessions will be conducted via Zoom, lasting 2 to 3 hours per session, 3 to 4 days per week.
This two-month course will cover a wide range of topics, including: company operations and project pitching, raising finance (debt, equity, gap funding); working with institutions such as the IDC, NEF, DTIC, NFVF, KZNFC, and others; collaborating with writers and directors, creative producing; engaging with TV broadcasters and streaming platforms; marketing and PR strategies for projects; sales agents and distributors; legal agreements, accounting, budgeting, and scheduling; working with bonders and co-producers in treaty countries; talent casting, post-production workflows, and crew/cast agreements; plus other essential areas of producing.
Line Producers Course
The Line Producer course consists of 16 sessions held between 9 June and 29 August 2025, also via Zoom, with each session lasting 2 to 3 hours. Line Producers will attend select sessions from the Producers course, alongside additional sessions specifically tailored to the responsibilities of a Line Producer in film and television. 🎥🎬📚
