Incendiary Test Area by @geeinarsson will be presented at @londonoriginalprintfair , May 14–17. The series of Japanese woodcuts was printed in Kyoto by mokuhanga master Shoichi Kitamura. Each work is built through 75–98 hand-carved tonal layers, pushing the medium toward a photographic density while retaining the material precision of traditional woodblock printing. Previously exhibited at Trykkeriet and @maureenpaley , the series is now held in the collections of the @britishmuseum , @kodebergen , and @nasjonalmuseet . Many thanks to @oca_norway for the financial support! #trykkerietbergen #gardareideeinarsson #shoichikitamura #mokuhanga #londonoriginalprintfair

This Saturday we also open a new exhibition by Jan Henning Larsen: "It has been a great inspiration to have access to Trykkeriet, where I have worked for two weeks, and where the exhibition ‘Death mark’ came into being. The large inatglio press at Trykkeriet has given me the opportunity to print woodcuts in a large format, combined with painting on canvas. I have taken a break from printmaking for a few years in favor of painting and sculpture, but now I have started working with graphics again. The time spent here has led to changes in technique and expression. This is clearly visible in the three prints that were made at Trykkeriet." – Jan Henning Larsen Jan Henning Larsen was born in 1966 in Bergen. He studied at the National College of Art and Design from 1991 to 1994. He has held a number of solo and group exhibitions, including “IMPRINT – Woodcuts Through Five Centuries” at the National Museum, Østlandsutstillingen, and Høstutstillingen in 2016. Larsen’s works have been acquired by, among others, the Norwegian Parliament and the National Gallery. The exhibition is supported by the Municipality of Bergen and the Norwegian Arts Council.

We are very pleased to present @catololand 's exhibition "Releases" opening at Trykkeriet this Saturday from 7 p.m . The exhibition consists of a series of sculptural works and screen prints produced in collaboration with Trykkeriet. His work has a playful odor and refuses to get categorized, it questions hierarchies within materials and techniques. Detritus cast aside and rescued from alleyways can be found alongside expensive silk and high-quality artistic tools. He is particularly drawn to industrially produced materials as they offer an opportunity for the reintroduction of the human hand in their creation – for reanimation. Subtlety, vulnerability, playfulness, and insistent presence has become hallmarks of his practice. Løland completed his MA from Bergen Academy of Art and Design in 2009. Solo exhibitions include Tandem at Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo (NO), Added at Lundgren Gallery, Palma (ES), Bogar i spenn (Arches in Span), Tou, Stavanger (NO), Turning Strangers into Family at Entrée, Bergen (NO), Chests at Paris Internationale, Paris (FR), Reservoar at The Textile Industry Museum, Salhus (NO), Før, før, etter, etter at Tag Team, Bergen (NO), Albogerom at SOFT Gallery, Oslo (NO). Group exhibitions include Samanføyningar, Hå gamle prestegård (NO), Between Rivers at Astrup Fearnley Museum (NO), Eutierria at Carvalho Park, New York (US), The table, the sea and the fruit at Ølhallene, Stavanger (NO), Uncertain weavings at The Address Gallery, Brescia (IT), The Queer Gaze at KODE Art Museums, Bergen (NO) and Contextile at the 6th Contemporary Textile Art Biennial in Guimarães (PT). Løland’s work is represented in the public collections of the National Museum, Astrup Fearnley Museum, KORO Public Art Norway, KODE Art Museum, Sogn og Fjordane Art Museum , National Museum of Decorative Arts and Design (NO) the Bergen Municipality Collection, the Trondheim Municipality Collection, and the University of Bergen. The exhibition is supported by the Municipality of Bergen & the Norwegian Arts Council

We would like to welcome you all to our next opening "A Pulsating Disequilibrium" on Saturday from 7 p.m by Samoa Remy. 6 large silkscreen prints contemplate the relationship between humans and the Earth, by focusing specifically on the topics of air, atmosphere, and breath, as ineluctable essences of life. In this project, two photographs from WW1, distorted by the artist, are the starting points for a process of transformation and dissolution. By revealing invisible energy, such as the transmission and detection of signals from the Universe, or passages from one medium to another with a progressive estrangement from nature, Samoa Remy aims to highlight the processes on which life depends, and the invertibility of energetic processes. By playing with the encounter between materials and oscillations between the static and dynamic, flatness and volume, she aims to create a movement similar to a respiratory process. Samoa Remy is a visual artist working with various medias, approaching themes like science, spirituality, alchemy, ecology and sound / music in a transdisciplinary way. At the core of her artistic practice, she holds the idea that everything which exists has a common origin. With this as a point of departure, she aims to create artworks / installations where seemingly disparate elements and entities all interrelate and form part of an energetic whole. #Samoaremy #trykkerietbergen #exhibition #silkscreen
