And honestly? My answer is always: ANYWHERE!!!
Grand Rapids has so many fun spots to explore, and last Friday night was the perfect reminder. Grabbed a couple friends, saw Devil Wears Prada 2 (so good!!), then headed to @tellerslounge where they created and named a custom drink just for us. After that, we ended the night at @trust_gr for an incredible chef’s menu experience.

Last week, we at The Delta Project had the incredible opportunity to learn from Chef Trimell Hawkins and his team, who graciously hosted several of our mentees and staff for a five-course dining experience at his restaurant, Trust GR. The evening was not only delicious, but deeply educational, offering hands-on guidance in dinner etiquette along the way.
Chef Trimell’s team walked us through each course, explaining the dishes, the proper use of utensils and table accessories, and the rich history behind the dining experience itself. Beyond the meal, Chef and his team also shared pieces of their life journeys, creating space for meaningful conversation and connection with the mentees we serve. It was a powerful and memorable evening, and we are deeply grateful to Chef Trimell and his team for such a beautiful and inspiring experience.
Side note: We’re so glad we had this experience before his grand opening, because he is booked!!!

I’m so happy to be able to share this experience at the new Trust and Teller with you and my good friends CJ and Nate.
We first started our adventure as the team at Trust transported over to the The Teller side to start our adventure with cocktails and mocktails.
We soon made our way over to our chef‘s table which we drooled and memorized right in front of the kitchen and the kitchen pass so we could see all the action and interact directly with Chef Trimell Hawkins and his son and Secchia Institute for Culinary Education student Chef Jaysin as they created our Culinary passage through the diciduous of Trust. If you’re wondering, what the name of the restaurant Trust is, it comes from deep within a chef, a chef with a dream, a chef with passion, and a chef with untamed vision and drive to trust in themselves and the process that the visualization will become reality.
