The team was up bright and early for a fun morning at Geelong Library. Guests were treated to chia pudding upon arrival, followed by a delicious plate of eggs benedict while enjoying the speakers for the session.

A highlight of hospitality is seeing young people grow as they gain hands-on experience. Their energy and ideas are inspiring, and it’s rewarding to watch their skills develop. The only downside is that the best often move on to seek new challenges.
Five years ago, Bella entered Truffleduck as an eager events student, keen to get some hands-on experience. She started as a casual front of house team member, then became a trainee event assistant working with an experienced coordinator. It quickly became clear that no matter what was thrown at her, Bella would engage and learn.
For the last two years, Bella has been our Logistics and Operations Manager, responsible for pulling together all the operational details for each event, a challenging role, but one that she quickly mastered and executed wonderfully.
As a supervisor and colleague, she shone; the staff loved working with and learning from her. She is a wonderful teacher with a genuine rapport for her team, taking extra care when teaching them new things. Her bubbly personality, keen eye for detail and love of events are just a few of the reasons she was so good in her role and why we will miss her so much.
Our lovely Bella is off on her next big adventure, moving to Melbourne to explore the next chapter in her events career. We are sad to see her go, but we are so excited to see what she accomplishes next. We know it will be exceptional.

Last week, we officially launched the Geelong Women’s Impact Collective with a powerful evening that brought together a community of women and allies committed to creating lasting change for women and girls across our region.
The energy in the room was grounded in connection, shared purpose and a clear sense of what’s possible when we come together.
We are deeply grateful to those who joined us on the night, and to those who have stepped forward as Founding Members — helping to shape this work from the very beginning.
Already, 80 Founding Members have joined the Collective, contributing over $81,800 and building strong momentum behind this work.
This is just the start of what we can achieve together.
