Finally the vinyl has arrived. Echoes of Ancient Life is now available everywhere. It has been such an amazing ride to create this double EP and work closely with Dave. I am super grateful for the trust and the commitment for this personal project. It is my first double EP and my biggest and most wholesome project I’ve worked on. Announcing a special new Infrastructure release. Hot on the heels of Nastia Reigel’s debut album, ‘Identity’, Function’s Infrastructure returns with a carefully curated 8-track double pack release by Troy. Troy is a Dutch techno producer based in The Hague, he has long been a steady presence in the deeper realms of contemporary techno. Across these 8 tracks, he constructs a continuum between the mystical and the mechanical: deep, tunnelling synth lines, evolving textures, and precise rhythmic flow pushing his punchy techno sound to the next level. A technohead since 2001, his music carries the unmistakable influence of late-90s and early-2000s techno. Known for his timeless sound on labels such as Klockworks, Non Series, and KEY Vinyl, though his first appearance came in 2013 on the Dutch label Dynamic Reflection. After his second EP in 2015, his sound caught the attention of Ben Klock, leading to three solo EPs and a contribution to the iconic Klockworks VA album. Troy continues to explore the intersection of raw energy and refined sound design on his first Double EP ‘Echoes of Ancient Life’ here on Infrastructure New York. In the wake of the success of this year’s breakthrough album, Sandwell District ‘End Beginnings’ on the MUTE/PIAS subsidiary Point of Departure label, Function has now put all of his energy into A&R’ing quality dancefloor releases for Infrastructure. Starting by sitting with Nastia Reigel and organizing and selecting what became her debut album ‘Identity’ in September, he has now worked closely with Troy to specifically shine a light on an artist who does not DJ or perform live. Sometimes after several years i still love a track I made 😅 This is one of those tunes! ‘Awakening’ will see the light of day on this nicely curated VA album this Friday. The base loop was created in 2016 and now 8 years later it will be released on @sciahri__sublunar ’s Sublunar label. On black and on transparant vinyl (limited edition).
