Exciting progress on a project with @mcfirstnation and @parks.canada at @niagara.on.the.lake - Kiinwa Giiyabih Gdaami Maanpi - Fort George National Historic Site. Marker stones selected with MCFN are being engraved to depict the Eternal Council Fire Wampum Belt Sacred Fire Sites. #FortGeorgeNHS

Thank you @treetrusttrees and @treecanada for a wonderful arborist workshop last week focusing on mature tree care and habitat preservation. Great guest speakers with research from @uqo_officiel and field studies from @ncc_cnc. Fun day of networking with other @isaontario members.

Last week was all about turtles while working at @evergreen_brick_works. Exciting to see the beautiful new Children's Garden shade structure, inspired by feather teachings, and gathering circle installation with children's mosaics and turtle sculpture from @dtahtoronto , @lga_ap , and @ferrucciosardella.

Reflecting on our @treetrusttrees event last weekend and want to highlight the amazing work of local artist @jennyduda_art. She generously donated her time and talent to this event and engaged local children to help weave the fence art. She is also the illustrator for @professor_pricklethorn's books and has contributed to many school ground, public art, and institutional installations. Thank you Jenny!

Our Team helped out at a wonderful community event in Cobourg this weekend. Tree Trust and Tree Canada / Arbres Canada supported amazing experts from Baum Professional Tree Care pruning extensive deadwood from mature trees that provide valuable shade and so many other benefits to over 700 students at C.R.Gummow PS. The day started with a bike tree tour supporting Canadian TREE Fund and wrapped up with an entertaining visit from @Professor Elwood Pricklethorn . Del Cressman & Ironwood Tree & Landscape demonstrated best practices with a new tree planting from Kobes Nurseries. A lemonade stand supported Community Living & Respite Northumberland and delicious snacks were provided from Prep Food Company. Prizes and donations from Baltimore Valley Garden Centre , CIMA+ , Just in Time Sanitation and The Arboretum, University of Guelph. Looking forward to more events with this amazing committee supporting the protection of elder trees.
