Under sunny fall skies in Niagara-on-the-Lake, we celebrated a true natural icon - the 400-year-old Epps Oak, this year’s Ontario Tree Pageant winner! 🌟 Chosen from over 80 heartfelt nominations across the province, this majestic tree stood tall as the crowd gathered on October 4 to honor its legacy. 🌳
Hosted on the property of Abe Epp, the day was filled with moving speeches, music, community spirit, and a ceremonial sashing of the mighty Oak.
Guest speakers included the Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa, MPP Wayne Gates, and OTP judge Paul Zammit.
🌟 Big thanks to Ecclestone Financial Group for sponsoring this year’s event, to all our judges and volunteers, to @niagara.on.the.lake , and to everyone who entered the 2025 pageant!
Thank you SO much to our friends at @georgettepackaging for hosting another incredible bake sale in support of mature trees 💚 We had a wonderful time attending and talking to people about what we do while they picked up some yummy treats! 🌳🍪
Port Dalhousie’s tree legacy continues to grow!
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of St. Catharines, more than 60 volunteers came together to plant 150 new trees in Walkers Creek, helping shape the next chapter of this incredible urban forest.
The day was filled with community spirit, local pastries, cake, muddy boots, and a shared commitment to protecting and expanding our tree canopy for generations to come. 💚
Thank you to all who attended, and a special thanks to Mayor Mat Siscoe and MP Chris Bittle for coming out to join us.
On Friday, we held our annual in-person chapter meeting, bringing together chapter managers from all 12 of our chapters across Southern Ontario for a day of learning, discussion, and sharing.
We absolutely love having these incredible individuals together in one room. We left feeling so inspired by the amazing highlights and accomplishments shared from each chapter. The room was overflowing with positive energy, collaboration, and passion!!
A huge thank you to our speakers, Margot Ursic, Betty Muise, and Trennon Wint, for sharing their knowledge and insights with us.
And thank you to @joethebutcheranddeli , @serendipityhandmadecookies , and @cbcoffeeclub for providing a fantastic catering (support local / small businesses 💚!)

This morning in Centre Wellington, we gathered at Haylock Park to plant native trees and shrubs and remove invasive Black Locust. Thank you to our amazing group of volunteers that were all smiles despite the wet spring weather 😄🌳☔️
This Earth Day 2026, we were reminded that the future truly is in good hands. Watching the next generation plant a sugar maple is more than a moment, but a promise to care for our planet, one tree at a time 💚🌍
The other day, Tree Trust headquarters paid a visit to spend some time with the trees and see the incredible work happening on the ground in the Toronto Islands Chapter. It was a beautiful reminder of the care and dedication that goes into urban tree conservation.
A big thank you to chapter managers Warren and Kathleen for showing us around - we loved every minute of it! 🌳☔️💚
HAPPY EARTH DAY!
Please enjoy these beautiful photos of Tree Trust–approved arborist Doug Steel caring for a wonderful bitternut hickory tree - Guelph’s 2025 Tree of the Year - in the morning fog 🌫️🌳
If you missed the arborist demonstration, don’t worry - we’ll be celebrating this special tree on May 3rd! 💚
