I want to share with you my first Solo Art Exhibition, “It’s complicated,” which opened on October 18th at @factory_ofdreams in Madrid. With “It’s complicated,” I aim to provoke a reflection on love from the perspective of the phoenix, a cycle of death and rebirth, metamorphosis, and individual evolution. I invite you to contemplate love as a constant rebirth where its interpretation becomes more intricate as we accumulate experiences that enrich our perception and reveal new meanings. “It’s complicated” includes, among other pieces, the series of sculptures titled “Versus,” where the word “Love” transforms into other concepts that may not necessarily be opposites but ambiguous, such as “Heal,” “Hard,” “Drug,” “Rare,” and “Game.” These concepts are open to different ways of perceiving love. “Drug” 2023, 26,5cm x 32,5cm x 26,5cm. Life-update post: What a cosmic trip it’s been! If the stars had whispered to me a few years ago that Melyn and I would be entwined in the vibrant tapestry of California, I’d have laughed in disbelief. Yet here we are, a year since we first touched the mystical soil of the Bay Area, unraveling a kaleidoscopic paella of emotions and experiences. Gratitude swells within me, a boundless ocean of thanks to our life here and to every radiant soul who has woven their magic into our journey. To all of you celestial beings, THANK YOU, you know who you are, shimmering lights in our universe. Living in this enchanting place with the love of my life, Melyn @littlelark , has been an extraordinary gift. Sharing a home with you has filled my days with joy, love, and endless wonder. Your presence is a constant source of inspiration and comfort, making every moment a cherished memory. On top off all that add another key ingredient to this epic sauce of epic life juice: working alongside the most talented constellation of individuals imaginable at the Human Interface Team at @Apple . Thrilled to contribute to this book. Vasarely’s influence on my graphic design journey started early, and his bold Op Art style has been a constant source of inspiration. It’s an honor to be part of this project celebrating his enduring legacy. *** If Victor Vasarely left his mark on the kinetic years of the 1960s and 1970s, it is not only because he created a visual language that embodied the very idea of modernity or paved the way for the optical art movement – whose legacy is still very much alive today, as evidenced by the selection of artists in this book. It is primarily because he was driven by a vision of the role of art, aware of the responsibility of the artist as well as that of the architect to promote art in society, and he conceived creation in a holistic way.
