This is Murder on High St
Lillie and Tillie on a mission
There is a killer in the house
This year I'm going to focus on building scenes of all the imaginary films in my mind through photoshoots. I find it's a great way to work on cinematography/lighting/composition skills and approach photoshoots with a stronger concept. Let me know what you think!

Cowboys on film 🎞️ Lucky strike
In october of this year I drove thousands of miles down the American West. This is what’s commonly know as god’s country. Before crossing the border of Nevada, I stumbled upon the last bastion of gambling and prostituton in the state. There, cowboys of all walks of life gather, often connected by a shared vision of life on the road, to take a break from the ranch. In the city’s outskirts, I camped outside a legal br*thel the whole day, waiting for cowboys to come out..other and more ‘honorable’ cowboys would later tell me of these men, forced out of many ranches and from an honest man’s work, with an insatiable appetite for the road and the instability it brings

Princess and Bubbles were married then, offering services together. They were moving down the West Coast toward LA to escape the winter. I thought about them for a long time after. Bubbles and Princess on the road. Like a modern Thelma and Louise.
I tried to reconnect but lost contact with Bubbles. Princess later told me they’d split up and that she didn’t want anything to do with her anymore. The details remained vague.
Two years later I drove four hours into the desert outside of Los Angeles to try to meet Princess again. The timing didn’t work. We didn’t meet, and I kept on driving again.
Earlier this year Princess reached out. She told me she was pregnant. Eight months in. Back home in Las Vegas with the father to be.
I was already driving west, so I made the detour for her. Princess, pregnant in Las Vegas with a boy.

Outside a biker bar in a Louisiana swamp I spotted a flyer that stuck with me: ‘Tonight Midget Mayhem Wrestling’. I’d missed them by a few weeks. Months later while driving my way through Idaho and the sagebush desert, I decided to take a 10 hour detour and track down a group of so-called ‘micro wrestlers’ out West. These are the Lucha Libre ‘Dwarfanators’
They’re part of a small circuit of touring wrestlers moving nearly year-round: little persons working close to 300 days a year, drifting from town to town across the West and Deep South, living out of their van and motel rooms. Across small towns they’re welcomed like local celebrities. The term midget wrestling sticks out. The announcer screams their names as they cut through the crowd toward the ring: Periquito, Micro Texano, Micro Nova..

Handprints of Colorado City
A few weeks ago I crossed the desert between Utah and Arizona. I wound by accident in Colorado City, the stronghold of the FLDS, an extreme offshoot of Mormonism. I woke up to women in pastel, 19th-century dresses walking through the red dust. The whole town had been created as a place to wait for the rapture.
Most people wouldn’t talk to me, but the younger ones did. Many had left the church or were raised by parents who had. They told me how the town grew under a prophet who took more than seventy wives including minors before being arrested and imprisoned by the FBI. The aftermath is still visible. Families splintered. Siblings who grew up side by side but never spoke. A girl mentioned two of her cousins who’d been abducted by their father and rescued later at a countryside diner.
The place sits against massive red cliffs, half Utah, half Arizona, a few wide streets swallowed in dust. By the afternoon I was riding around with a group of local kids on dirt bikes and quads. No concrete anywhere, just red sand, wind, and the noise of engines. Teenagers drifting through town, mums holding onto their kids as they rip through town on their dirt bike…a community caught between the remnants of a cult and whatever comes next.

GOD’S COUNTRY
I went out to capture the American West; what people here refer to as God’s Country. I flew into LA and hit the road. No plan. No crew. I slept where I landed: riverbeds, empty lots, the side of the road next to gas stations; the back end of a lone country road.
I drifted through the high plains and the desert for weeks, stopping whenever something tugged at me. I approached strangers the way I always do - slowly, honestly; just wanting to see who they are and what the place does to people. From cowboys, drifters, puritans to sex workers… between the glow of Las Vegas and the remoteness and loneliness of the desert, I looked for characters and stories that would let the spirit of the American West transpire.
With Charlie Kirk’s death, spiraling conspiracies, rising tensions, and murmurs of civil war, this place isn’t just marked by religion. There’s a whisper of the apocalypse here ; an Armageddon brewing on the horizon. The great battle between good and evil. But it’s also a country shaped by distance and desolation; by faith, family, community, and the quiet unraveling of a land still spoken about like a promise. Somewhere between all this the American West is holding its breath.

it's almost time I set off on the road again! Back to the American west and the deep south to reconnect with people I met over the past couple years driving thousands of miles cross country. More defined projects are finally shaping up, exploring current themes of american life. In honour of that I am doing my first handprint sale:
These were taken across America through weeks spent on the road, roaming the American backcountry and approaching strangers for the odd chat (with the exception of a few End of the Line prints in the UK). I printed all of these on 12x16 Fuji Crystal Archive matt paper. They are limited edition, numbered and signed prints. Get in touch for pricing and options!
