'Turning a New Leaf: Botany in Print 1550-1959' has officially completed its run in the Wren Library! TFAS would like to give a massive thank you to those who visited the exhibition and the workshop, as well as the people who made it happen: co-curator Cressida Massey-Cook, librarians Nicolas Bell and Steven Archer, donor Marcus Bicknell, and, of course, the team at Trinity Arts Week who suggested and promoted this exhibition. Don't fret if you missed the exhibition as it will be digitised on the Wren Library website!

Please join us for a talk in which curator and art advisor Truls Blaasmo shares insights from his personal journey and recent projects at the intersection of contemporary art and the luxury fashion industry, two worlds increasingly connected through collaboration and cultural strategy. The fashion industry is undergoing a major transformation. No longer confined to selling garments, fashion houses are redefining their identities by expanding into adjacent cultural fields and integrating alternative disciplines into their creative strategies. This shift, from pure fashion to a layered, narrative-driven approach, presents both new opportunities and complex cultural challenges. What role does art play in this evolution, and how is it reshaping the dynamics of the art world? What responsibilities does a curator assume in navigating and nurturing the growing dialogue between these two spheres? And how is this cross-pollination impacting the career pathways and challenges for emerging professionals within the contemporary art ecosystem today? Trinity College, Cambridge. June 18, 2025
