We are delighted to announce the selected artist for our recent open call is Tringa Gashi @tringity Tringa Gashi (b. 1996) is based in Copenhagen/Malmö and educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (2024) and Malmö Art Academy (2021). As a Swedish-Kosovar Albanian artist, she works from a cross-cultural perspective, exploring how intimate experiences are intertwined with economic and historical systems. In her work, a recurring interest lies in the circulation of images in public and commercial spaces. Through photography, film, and installation, she examines how images are shaped by—and simultaneously reproduce—economic structures, desire, and cultural imaginaries. Tringa’s work will be presented in our upcoming window exhibition during the summer (more info to come). We would also like to give a huge thanks to everyone who applied. This year we received a total of 119 proposals from all over the world and the high quality and diversity of submissions made the selection process incredibly difficult!

Spent summer at @kkvgrafik developing the photogravure series Shadow Economy 🪄 / Shadow Economy is a photographic exploration of parallel economies and the hidden mechanisms that operate beneath official systems—focusing specifically on the circulation of counterfeit euros in Kosovo. The four images investigate the boundaries between legitimate and illegitimate value, questioning the authority of economic systems and the symbols that sustain them. The work zooms in on the euro coin—not merely as a unit of currency, but as a cultural artifact loaded with power and trust. Through close-up photographs revealing subtle details, textures, and imperfections, the work highlights how value is both constructed and contested. These images delve into the minute dots, edges, and metallic properties that distinguish authentic coins from counterfeit ones—markers often invisible to the casual eye but crucial to the systems of control that govern daily transactions. One key method used to detect fake coins in Kosovo involved a simple magnet test. Real €2 coins, embedded with ferromagnetic metals, would stand upright when placed on a magnet, while counterfeit ones would fall. This magnetic behavior becomes a symbolic gesture in the work—speaking to the forces that separate what is accepted from what is rejected.

Slowly coming down from last weeks presentation at @swabartfair where I showed a scent work I’ve been developing with @odorandfumes An honour to present the work in the booth of @fuxia.2 together with @ikramianism <3 Labels by @mark___emil / Dupe is a carefully handmade scent, crafted with natural oils, exploring consumerism, desire, and the traces we carry. Constructed from layered olfactory notes, the work unfolds like the contents of a well-worn leather bag: scraps of paper, makeup powder, perfume vials, and loose coins. The scent opens with powdery, cosmetic top notes—lipstick traces, soft yet artificial—before revealing a metallic and floral mid-section, grounded by the synthetic hum of Iso E Super. At its base, leather lingers: worn, intimate, and durable, recalling both luxury and everyday use. Dupe also comments on the bootleg and copy market of perfumes, reflecting on the circulation of imitations and the complex dynamics of desire, authenticity, and value. It captures the tension between originality and reproduction—the invisible economy of things that seduce, mark, and weigh in our pockets. Thanks to the @swedish_arts_grants_committee for making the trip possible DM if you wanna smell or have your own Dupe👜

Fuxia 2 will participate in this year's edition of 𝐒𝐖𝐀𝐁 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐚 – 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫, taking place in October 2-5. We are featured in their Focus Polar and Tropic program, and we have invited artists Tringa Gashi and Ikram Abdulkadir. @tringity @ikramianism The program is curated by Tenthaus, Bunga Siagian and Jatiwangi Art Factory (JAF). @tenthausoslo @bungasiagian @jatiwangiartfactory 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐆𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢 (b.1996, Swedish/Kosovar-Albanian) is an artist based between Malmö and Copenhagen. Her practice explores the intersection of economy, image production, and political structures, examining how these shape individual dreams, societal needs, and collective aspirations. Gashi investigates the social choreography of consumption and the constructed nature of filmmaking as part of the same continuum—both reflective of and complicit in the mechanisms of power. Through a multidisciplinary approach, she dissects how power dynamics manifest in both personal and public spaces. She holds an MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (2024) and a BFA from Malmö Art Academy (2021). 📸 artist portrait by Farzad Soleimani @farzadslmn Thanks, @swabartfair for the invitation, and to Region Skåne, for supporting our participation! @regionskane We will be accompanied by a bunch of great platforms: NSFW (Gothenburg), Pachinko (Oslo), Tenthaus (Oslo), Asbestos Art Space (Helsinki), All all all (Copenhagen), SUAVEART (Taipei), ss space space (Taipei), Jatiwangi Art Factory (Majalengka), Studio150 (Bangkok), MoT+++ (Ho Chi Minh), Gelanggang Olah Rasa – GOR (Bandung), K4+ Podium (Oslo).
