Smoke tells stories, and BUILĐINH holds the stage.   BUILĐINH means đinh — the bolt that holds it all together. This series is built tough, but with a wink. Rigid wood, steel, and stone meet the soft, fleeting dance of smoke in a beautifully messy duel.   And because tradition doesn’t have to be stuck in one spot — each tower rolls on four smooth casters. Move your vibe wherever you want. Ritual, now with wheels.   This isn’t just an incense holder. It’s a bold, mobile monument to contradiction: solid yet fleeting, serious yet cheeky. A few of my favorite functional art pieces from the ‘9BYGONES’ series we @trida.subject created for @ruemiche — where form quietly meets purpose.

Not everyone coming to Rue Miche (RM) is aware of the street’s rich history and the complex timelines intertwined at this very location. The passion in local products from our friends at RM fundamentally collides with trida’s ideal of modern arts and craft. So we as trida try to articulate the story and aesthetics of RM through our own words and crafts. This project was later named 9BYGONES - a collection of Objet d’art and a nod to the store’s address number. “PORTAL”, the centerpiece of 9BYGONES, represents a monumental meeting point of time in the heart of RM - showcasing the past, present and future of Vietnam’s culture. “PORTAL” opens up a cosmic gate that transitions heritage into modern time. Dipped in international blue, these “passengers” are objects scattered all around RM. They stroll around, stand upon a wall, sit down, rest, hide somewhere and everywhere. BUILĐINH (3) in BUILĐINH Incense Tower Series How to Use BUILĐINH A quick ritual 1. Ignite the cone Light the tip until it glows softly, then gently extinguish the flame. 2. Set on the socket Place the incense cone upright on the custom base. 3. Insert into the chamber Slide the socket into the center of the tower. Let it settle with ease. 4. Let the smoke unfurl Watch it weave through the side openings — quiet, slow, and natural. 5. Crown with stones (optional) Add the natural stones on top to temper the flow. This deepens the burn and lets the smoke linger longer. We highly recommend it. 6. Bộ Sưu Tập BUILĐINH — THÁP HƯƠNG bởi trida.subject Hương trầm không chỉ là mùi — nó là ký ức, là hơi thở của nhà, là chút phép màu nhỏ từ bàn thờ tuổi thơ. Khói kể chuyện, còn BUILĐINH là nơi những câu chuyện đó được giữ lại. BUILĐINH là từ chơi chữ với đinh — vừa chắc chắn, vừa gợi nhớ đến sự kết nối. Dòng sản phẩm này được làm ra để vững vàng, nhưng không khô khan. Gỗ, thép và đá chạm mặt khói nhẹ tênh — cứng đối mềm, bền đối tạm, mà vẫn hoà hợp. Và vì nghi thức không cần phải đứng yên một chỗ — mỗi tháp được gắn bốn bánh xe lăn nhẹ tênh. Thích đặt đâu cũng được, không gian trầm hương có thể linh hoạt theo ý bạn. Đây không đơn thuần là một cái giá đỡ. Nó là một công trình nhỏ — chắc nịch, cơ động, và mang đầy mâu thuẫn thú vị: vững nhưng bay, nghiêm túc nhưng vẫn hơi lém lỉnh.
