We planted 300 trees at @RBGCanada ’s Westdale property! 🌳🍃 Huge thank you to the 85 incredible volunteers who came out to celebrate Trees for Hamilton’s 100th tree planting! Over the years, Trees for Hamilton has planted thousands of trees, improved air quality, created wildlife habitats, and brought communities together. This planting marks a new chapter — and the first step toward the next 100 plantings. Together, we can let it grow. 🌱 💚 Want to support future plantings? Consider donating to Trees for Hamilton through the link in our bio! Every $30 supports planting and caring for one tree through its most vulnerable years.

Shoutout to the 9 wonderful volunteers who joined @HamiltonNature for some invasive shrub removal last weekend! 🌿🍃 With support from the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club, Trees for Hamilton, JDCC, and HSAP, volunteers removed 100+ invasive buckthorn shrubs from the Sheelah Dunn Dooley Nature Sanctuary! 🙌 💡 Did you know? Just one mature buckthorn can produce thousands of seeds a year — removing them stops new invasives from sprouting! 🌾

Thank you to the 8 wonderful volunteers who joined HSAP and @HamiltonNature for our invasive shrub removal last weekend! 🌿💚 With support from the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club, Trees for Hamilton, and HSAP, volunteers removed 100+ invasive buckthorn shrubs from the Sheelah Dunn Dooley Nature Sanctuary! 👏 💡 Did you know?
Buckthorn is an invasive species that takes over native habitats by outcompeting local plants. One easy way to spot it: if it’s November and it’s still green… it’s probably not from here. 🌱 Want to get involved?
Join us this Saturday, November 8th for another invasive shrub pull at the Sheelah Dunn Dooley Nature Sanctuary from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Register via the link in our bio (the event is weather-dependent, so you’ll get updates if anything changes).
