This planting marks a new chapter — and the first step toward the next 100 plantings. Together, we can let it grow. 🌱

With support from the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club, Trees for Hamilton, JDCC, and HSAP, volunteers removed 100+ invasive buckthorn shrubs from the Sheelah Dunn Dooley Nature Sanctuary! 🙌
💡 Did you know?
Just one mature buckthorn can produce thousands of seeds a year — removing them stops new invasives from sprouting! 🌾

💡 Did you know? Buckthorn is an invasive species that takes over native habitats by outcompeting local plants. One easy way to spot it: if it’s November and it’s still green… it’s probably not from here.
