Join the Riverdale Community Salad Bowl Garden and HSAP for a community garden building day! 🌱 Help move soil into the new garden beds, and support a growing space that brings people together in East Hamilton. Whether you come for the full day or just a few hours, every bit of help makes a difference. 🗓 Saturday, May 16 ⏰ 10 AM to 3 PM 📍 140 Lake Ave N, Stoney Creek Pizza lunch provided. We’re so honoured to share that we received the Environmental Youth Group Award at the Hamilton Environmentalists of the Year Awards 2025 💚🌱 The Hamilton Sustainability Action Project (HSAP) started as a small group of students who wanted to stay involved in sustainability beyond campus. Since then, HSAP has grown into a community where people come together to volunteer, connect, and take action in Hamilton. This award belongs to everyone who has shown up, supported, and helped build this community with us 🤍 Thank you to our advisor, Kate Whalen, and our nominators Abbie Little and Myles Sergeant, as well as our partners, volunteers, and everyone who has supported HSAP along the way. Thank you to the Environmentalists of the Year Awards committee for organizing such a meaningful event and for recognizing our team. A special congratulations to Kate on receiving the Dr. Victor Cecilioni Environmentalist of the Year Award. We planted 310 trees at RBG’s Aviary! 🌳☀️ @RBGCanada , @TreesForHamilton and @HSAPgreen are so grateful to our 39 dedicated volunteers who came together to plant trees. Our first planting of the season was such a great event, and it was amazing to come together, enjoy the sunshine, and take action for a greener, more sustainable Hamilton. 🌱 Join SCORE McMaster, City of Hamilton, and Trees for Hamilton Saturday, April 25th at 10am to plant 300+ trees followed by a pizza lunch! HSAP’s 2025 Impact Report is out 🌱 Looking back on 2025, we brought people together through meaningful, hands-on opportunities to get involved in sustainability across Hamilton, and made a real impact in our community. 🌱 1,098 trees planted 🤝 223 volunteers ⏱️ 1,071 volunteer hours 🌿 200+ invasive species removed 🌍 6,588 kg CO₂ captured Thank you to our volunteers, partners, collaborators, and supporters who made this all possible 💚 🔗 Check out the full report at the link in our bio

Over the years, Trees for Hamilton has planted thousands of trees, improved air quality, created wildlife habitats, and brought communities together. This planting marks a new chapter — and the first step toward the next 100 plantings. Together, we can let it grow. 🌱 💚 Want to support future plantings?
