Over the course of 4 years, I wrote and directed a film series, RADICAL. It is a reflection of
Minneapolis post-uprising still looking itself in the mirror, wondering if all that has transpired can be simply undone with time or would it possibly require something more.
As the resident characters of the series cope with inexplicable loss of identity, whimsical
possibility, and an ever expanding future of the unknown, RADICAL shows us the story of what
it means to fight against the city you love the most.

New work! This was a particularly memorable one for me as I was scheduled to do an intense medical procedure involving chemo and a stem cell transplant the week this was expected to shoot. The procedure would take me away from my two little children for a month, with a prolonged recovery period afterward.
After reading the creative, I found the parallels to our family’s story too close to ignore and decided to push the medical procedure a couple of weeks, allowing me to shoot this spot. My own kids and our situation were in the back of my mind during pre-pro and on set, feeding into everything I did.
I’m very pleased with the results. Thank you to Rise and Shine for the trust and to everyone involved for the hard work.
