May is a busy month on the farm! We’re hard at work planting vegetables and flowers as soil temperatures slowly creep up and taking care of our orchard as the trees, brambles and bushes fully leaf out. It also means our events schedule is filling up, and some important dates signaling the start of the summer season on the farm are just around the corner, like our 🛍 Farm Store returning to full-time hours of Tuesday-Sunday 9 am-6 pm and our Treasury Cider Bar opening on Thursdays 12 pm-7 pm. You’ll find some new events on the schedule, including our 🍝 Open Mic & Pasta Night with @groundup_foodtruck on May 22nd and a 🎨 painting class with @a_life_in_art on May 30th. We’re honored to share that Treasury Pommeau received a Silver medal at the 9th Annual Cidercraft @cidercraftmag Awards! 🍎 The competition included cideries from across the U.S., Canada and even Ukraine, with entries judged through a blind tasting process by an expert panel. We’re wrapping up @newyorkcider week with a weekend full of events both on and off the farm! 🥂 On the road: Today we’ll be over @denningspointdistillery for their Core & Craft event from 7-9pm 🥃🍎 Saturday we’ll be up at @seminaryhillny for the Catskills Cider Festival from 1-5pm ⛰️🍏 Here at the farm: Saturday morning we’re hosting sip n’ stretch with @redtailpoweryoga at 11am, tickets are available now on our website! 🧘🏻‍♀️🥂 We’ll have live music from 12-3 featuring @tienmusic @carmen.costello out on our wrap around porch overlooking the orchard! Join @naturesimpact from 1-3pm to make a flower vase and sip some cider, tickets available on our website. 🌱✨ On Sunday the cider bar will be open from 11-7, bring mom by for a glass of cider and the view! The weather looks delightful ☀️ We also have a new retail fridge out at the outdoor cider bar to purchase bottles from, so you can still take cider home with you even when the store is closed. Big things are happening this weekend for Treasury Cider! 🍎🌸🥂 @newyorkcider week kicks off on Saturday at Angry Orchard, with the festivities going through May 10th. Tickets are $5/person, or $20 for a group of 5 ($4 for each additional admission over 5 people). Purchase tickets onsite at the Orchard Shed. 🌸 FAQ: Will there be blossoms on the trees? We were initially on track for a typical bloom season, with blossoms expected at the time of the festival. However, the stretch of unseasonably warm weather we experienced in mid-April accelerated the timeline and encouraged many of the blossoms to open much earlier than anticipated. While we do our best to predict bloom timing each year, weather patterns can shift things quickly, and nature tends to have the final say. We will be past peak bloom by the date of the event, but it will still be a beautiful time to take in the green spring scenery and enjoy a peaceful wagon ride!
