« CORE » solo exhibition by ENTERPRISE, 30.11-19.12.2024
The international Japanese-Swiss corporation « ENTERPRISE » is a vehicle of the artist duo composed of Lark Ring and Taiga Nakazaki, which explores the infrastructure of cultural production in contemporary times. The corporation deconstructs and reappropriates its concept and aesthetic to highlight the performative nature of design in the art system and its impact on production. Previous interventions have focused on different facets of structure, from art handling mechanisms to corporate identity.
The exhibition « Core » becomes a showroom for the corporation. The floor has been covered with classic office carpeting, a portrait of the founders shaking hands hangs on the wall along with contracts, storage boxes are stacked outside ready to be shipped and champagne sits on the glass table, ready to pop out, to celebrate the opening, a moment in the corporation’s history which enters a new phase. The space is performance, every moment is part of the work. By reappropriating the aesthetics of corporate spaces, ENTERPRISE reveals the mechanisms of their
design and deconstructs the gaze of the viewer, who is challenged, having agency in the work, entering the space haunted by ENTERPRISE.

« In this work, design does not provide solutions.
Instead, it mirrors the fragile, precarious state of our current systems, revealing the vacancy at
their core. » (Lark Ring & Taiga Nakazaki)
