Over the past few months, members of Transmasculine PH Core Team have experienced difficult situations in our individual personal lives.
We have also spent this year still recovering from the loss of TANGGAP.
This has resulted in a decline in our Core Team members’ mental health, making it difficult to plan, facilitate, and execute events and workshops for our community.
For the sake of the TmPH community, we have decided that we will be taking a temporary mental health break. During this break, our Core Team members will focus on taking care of themselves and preparing for a better and stronger TmPH.
We will continue with our responsibilities that involve TmPH’s day-to-day operations, such as:
● Moderating the online spaces (Facebook Group & Discord Server)
● The quarterly testosterone group order
● Processing of TmPH Membership and Stealth IDs
Although we will be on break, we will still be preparing for when we return!
Our hope is that we will come back with a renewed and expanded TmPH Core Team that can provide sustainable support for the Filipino transmasculine community.

READ: STATEMENT ON THE SUSPENSION OF TANGGAP TRANS HUB ACTIVITIES FOLLOWING THE U.S. PRESIDENTIAL E.O. “REEVALUATING AND REALIGNING UNITED STATES FOREIGN AID”
On January 28, 2025, Transmasculine Philippines (TmPH) received official communications to cease all activities for the TANGGAP Trans Hub due to the immediate pause and assessment of projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The suspension was called in compliance with the U.S. Presidential Executive Ordered issued on January 20, 2025 titled, “Reevaluating the Realigning United States Foreign Aid.” As a result, the complete termination of TANGGAP’s funding is under review, and all planned events and bookings are cancelled until further notice.
As an international DEI initiative under the Alliance for Global Equality program of Outright International and the Victory Institute, TANGGAP is only one of many projects now required to abruptly cease operations. With several of our local LGBTQIA+ organizations dependent on awarded USAID funding, we believe the suspension endangers efforts to provide accessible services to community members, as well as individuals relying on such projects for their well-being.
TmPH stands firmly against all systematic acts to defund DEI initiatives and discredit the unlawful discrimination against transgender individuals. To those who wish to use the TANGGAP space, we are dedicated to providing our assistance. Please directly contact TMPH for further details.
To our community members, we remain vigilant in ensuring free access to safe spaces and educational resources for transgender Filipinos. As we seek alternative fundraising opportunities, we hope to receive your continued support.
To our peers, organizations, and fellow advocates, we look forward to upholding our unified objective to fight for the advancement of LGBTQIA+ rights and equality in the Philippines.

Every year on March 31, we celebrate the International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV). Every year, we celebrate by highlighting transgender, non-binary, transsexual, and gender non-conforming peers, friends, family members, partners, and loved ones.
