🗣️ Your name is more than just a word, it’s your story. It is YOU. We asked the community: “When has your chosen name brought you joy, dignity, or a sense of home?” And the answers? ✊🏳️‍⚧️ From the first time someone called them by their chosen name, to the moment family or peers acknowledged it, to seeing it on paper, or simply just being seen... these moments show why recognition isn’t just legal- it is life-affirming. ✨ Ikaw din! Share your story and let your voice be heard. Paano nakapagbigay sayo ng joy, dignity, o sense of home ang iyong chosen name? 📣 Support the call for Legal Gender Recognition: 🌐 More about the Legal Gender Recognition:

A deadname is universally recognized as the birth or former name of a transgender or non-binary person that they no longer use. Using it is called deadnaming, and it is disrespectful and harmful because it denies someone’s identity. Research from Elek Lane’s "The Impact of Deadnaming" shows that being deadnamed increases the risk of discrimination, harassment, and even physical danger. The evidence is clear: recognition of a person’s chosen name and gender is not optional—it’s a right. 💯 This is exactly why the Legal Gender Recognition (LGR) Bill is so important. Recognition isn’t just symbolic. It directly affects: ➡️ how safely and freely people can live their lives ➡️ access to services ➡️ being seen and respected for who they truly are Sa pagsuporta sa LGR Bill, tumutulong ka para sa kinabukasan kung saan lahat pwedeng mabuhay nang bukas at ligtas bilang kanilang tunay na sarili. ✊ 📖 Read more about "The Impact of Deadnaming": https://bit.ly/3Q9uBOl 📣 Support the call for Legal Gender Recognition: 🌐 More about the Legal Gender Recognition:

Visibility matters. Recognition matters more. ✊ 📣 Support the call for the Legal Gender Recognition: /

“The right to self-determination, bodily autonomy, and inclusive gender recognition is long overdue.” — Hon. Ermelita V. Valdeavilla, Chairperson, Philippine Commission on Women On the 16th anniversary of the Magna Carta of Women (RA 9710), the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) affirms its strong support for Legal Gender Recognition (LGR), a vital step toward affirming dignity, equality, and human rights for trans and gender diverse Filipinos. PCW reminds us that gender diversity has deep roots in our pre-colonial heritage, where it was honored, not erased. The fight for recognition today is also a fight to reclaim this inclusive history. Sixteen years after the Magna Carta’s passage, it is time to ensure its promise of equality reaches all, including those still rendered invisible by systemic exclusion. Their message is clear: laws and policies must be grounded in dignity, aligned with human rights standards, and accessible to all, free from invasive requirements and discrimination. We thank PCW for standing with our communities. 💜 #SupportLGRNowPH #LegalGenderRecognitionPH #TransRightsAreHumanRights #CallUsByOurName #LGR2025 #SelfIDNow #TransIsBeautiful

“Legal gender recognition is a matter of dignity, equality, and respect.” — Graeme Reid, UN Independent Expert on Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity This powerful message from Graeme Reid affirms the fundamental human rights at stake in the ongoing efforts for Simplified Legal Gender Recognition (LGR) in the Philippines. It underscores the vital role of trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse communities, advocates, and institutions in advancing legal recognition that is accessible, respectful of privacy, and grounded in the principle of self-determination. The United Nations, through its mechanisms and experts, amplifies the binding obligations of States to uphold these standards and eliminate barriers that undermine the rights and dignity of gender diverse people. Simplified LGR is not merely a policy demand—it is a human rights imperative. #SupportLGRNowPH #LegalGenderRecognitionPH #TransRightsAreHumanRights #CallUsByOurName #LGR2025 #SelfIDNow #TransIsBeautiful

🏳️‍⚧️ A Global Win for Trans Dignity: Cuba’s Self-ID Law Inspires Our Fight in the Philippines We celebrate with our trans siblings in Cuba 🇨🇺 as their country takes a historic step by passing a law that allows trans and intersex people to change their gender marker and name without surgery or court intervention. This powerful reform affirms the truth we have always known—that gender identity is a matter of self-determination, not medical or legal gatekeeping. This moment resonates deeply with us in the Philippines 🇵🇭. It strengthens our resolve as we advance the Simplified Legal Gender Recognition Bill of 2025 ⚖️, a community-led legislative proposal that mirrors this global momentum. Like Cuba’s new law, our bill removes invasive medical and psychological requirements, ensures administrative and judicial options, protects the right to privacy, and opens the door to nonbinary recognition and access for minors with supportive guardians. This is not just a policy win—it is a win for trans futures, for dignity, for life. We look to Cuba and say: we are next. We celebrate this triumph as part of a rising tide of trans liberation across the Global South. We thank our Cuban sisters, brothers, and siblings for the light they shine on the path ahead. Together, we grow stronger. ✊🏻✨ #TranspinayMahusay #STRAPKababaihan #TransRigthsAreHumanRights #CallUsByOurName
