Becoming a freediving instructor isn’t just about achieving depths or times it’s about growth, persistence, and a commitment to safety. Today, I’m thrilled to share the story of my journey to earning my Instructor Certification.
In 2023, I set my sights on becoming a certified instructor. After completing my Wave 3 course in June, I jumped into the Instructor Course (IC) by July. It was an exciting step forward, and I knew it would take dedication and patience to meet all the requirements.
By November, I achieved a huge milestone: completing my 100m DYNB with the guidance of Coach
@isco.pelisco.jr From there, only one challenge remained, my static apnea requirement. Balancing my IC journey with my responsibilities at TRA and Salum made it harder to focus on this final piece, but it was worth the wait.
When the time came, I embraced the opportunity to pause, realign, and give my full attention to my goals. Through it all, I stayed committed to training safely avoiding injuries, LMCs, and blackouts. I wanted my journey to reflect the importance of mindful and responsible freediving, something I now proudly carry into my role as an instructor.
Yesterday, with Coach
@camzandgoes_ I finally completed my static apnea requirement, officially marking the end of my IC journey.
