Survive and finish LAM 7.
In hindsight, spending 5+ hours on my feet running and walking up and down hill in the 86° heat is probably a bit reckless for a 64 soon to be 65 year old blackman. But my strategy was simple ( I thought, as I explained it to my friend and confidant @showtime.andy ), because of my hip having been causing me problems for the last 10 days or so, I just needed to get to 18, if I can get to, 18 I can get to the bravos zone at 21 and if I get to the bravo zone at 21 I was sure I could finish the race. a bit naive I know but that was my thinking and plan. But the wheels came off at 16, and it was all downhill from there and then it just became an exercise in survival and to finish LAM 7. In hindsight, it probably wasn’t the best of ideas, but as they say hindsight is 20-20 vision.
But without any additional wording, this was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Just glad it’s over next up, London marathon.

LA Chinatown Firecracker 2026, second of three races in three weeks. went into this one with an irritated right hip, which means no power, no acceleration, no love (😁), but was able to come in fourth in my age group. Better luck next year I guess. LAM up next, hop to have the hip at 85% by then. Wish me luck I’m gonna need it. 🤞🏽🙂🤞🏽

Rose Bowl 1/2 Marathon was a Party.

California international Marathon 2025, In the last 2 miles the only thing I wanted to do was to stop running but with a slight downhill 2 miles it’s kinda hard not to accelerate. Just like the end of this race, this season has truly been a grind, with injury and recovery, but I was able to grind my way back, if not just a little. But my life has always been a grind, easy just not in the cards for me. So thanks to the people over the 18 or so weeks who supported and encourage me @koreatownrunclub , made it possible to get the job done. Thank you all and looking forward to seeing you in a week or so.

New York City Marathon trip 2025.
One of the most fun and touristy times I have had in the city, and in the 80s and 90s I’ve spent a lot of time in New York. In fact, 75% of my Record deals came out of Manhattan.
I ran the New York City Marathon 2025, and it was just as I remember without the visit to the medical tent. Must admit it was a very tough course, but I enjoyed it as I enjoy most of my races. 🙌🏾🙂
