2025 - it wasn’t always easy! Well it started with two friend’s houses burning down. I had several friends get sick, including one who was paralyzed and one who died. I reconnected with a few old pals and picked up right where we left off, which I really appreciated. I watched one good sports team (the Dodgers) and two terrible ones (Clippers and Raiders) 😅 which seems to be the way things go
And I didn’t have anything big to announce myself - no kids on the way, no shiny new job, no running PRs. I hate how Instagram is just self promotion and professional photos these days. Genuinely what I appreciated though was when you could be there for a friend, whether they needed you or hit you up out of the blue. And when I could get out the house, jog up a hill, get kicked in the face, do something a little uncomfortable but leave like HELL YEAH
(I was going to do a whole slideshow but just wanted to use this picture of this dog instead. See you in 2026)
Another beautiful marathon weekend!
This year’s @everywomansmarathon was so much fun and a lot different from what we did last year in Georgia! Huge kudos to the organization of the event.
We road tripped out and @showtime.andy was such a driving champ! Willow is a mix of calm and terrified on these trips. Andy has to drive a lot gentler for the ladies but he’d prefer to drive like it’s the next installment of Fast and the Furious. We were also able to stop and see my mom on the way out and had a nice dinner with her so I’m glad they chose Scottsdale this year!
We planned this trip so that Willow could celebrate her 7th birthday doing what she loves best, sleeping on nice hotel linens and eating cake in bed!
Happy 7th Birthday Willow the Dog!!! 😛 Google says you are not a senior dog yet (for medium breeds it starts at 8-9 years) but I have never loved an animal so much. Willow I know your life is very hard but I hope you have the comfiest beds and most fishy treats whenever you want them 😤
This summer I got back to my roots 😎
1) getting kicked in the face at the gig🤤
2) drinking beer next to the dumpster 🦝
3) wearing bucket hat next to panda 🐼
4) wearing bucket hat to the gig 🍻
5) wearing bucket hat with the dog 😛
Lord forgive me but it’s time to go back to the old me 🐰
LAM 3:16 - My LA Marathon training was definitely abbreviated and distracted this year. It started while dealing with a few injuries, was interrupted by the wildfires, and a week before the race my childhood home was burglarized. So long distance running and crushing big PRs hasn’t exactly been my focus. But in those couple months I found joy in the simple acts of sharing a few miles with friends, repping some stupid bands I like, and eating hot dogs before, after, and during my runs
One day I might be focused on running super fast again but til then - when life gives you lemons, suck down a glizzy! 🌭
