Tracks India 002 Out Now!!! Cover shot by Alan van Gysen (@alanvangysen ) in 2011, this photograph of Trevor Gordon (@tearevor ) comes from a now-mythic Lakshadweep trip — the same expedition that had Craig Anderson in the mix, chasing a wave many had only seen in Taylor Steele’s Castles in the Sky. On a tiny island tucked into the Arabian Sea, Alan and the crew found a surreal contrast: one of the most perfect reef waves in India, breaking in front of a deserted pier engineers insisted on building against the advice of the local mooppan. The structure never saw a single ship, the swell made sure of that. Explore the full issue, which dives deep into what 2025 has meant for Indian surfing, what lies ahead, and what you’ve got to explore across our very own subcontinent. Head to the link in our bio to purchase your copy. 📸: 2: @surfersofindia @_vaibhavgupta 3: @luenzo_ 4: @tim_s_hain 5: @ravaau

We’re stoked to introduce Tracks India—a new, independent edition from Tracks Magazine, repping South Asian surf culture straight from the source. When Morning of the Earth was still an unnamed piece of art, Tracks co-founder Albe Falzon borrowed a phrase from India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. When asked about Bali, Nehru called it “the morning of the world.” That line went on to title one of the most iconic surf films ever made. One thing led to another—and Albe found himself returning to the philosophies, coastlines, and spirit of South Asia, especially India. Now, with Albe’s blessing, we’re proud to launch Tracks India—a bespoke edition of the magazine that highlights the fledgling but fiercely growing Indian surf scene. The first issue drops next week, featuring an intimate interview with Albe about his adventures in India, alongside profiles of the people shaping the future of surfing on the subcontinent. “Prime Minister Nehru of India was visiting at the time, and when asked what he thought of Bali, his reply was, ‘It’s like the morning of the world.’ It was, for me, the beginning of a long relationship with India, Sri Lanka, and Tibet.” — Albe Falzon “India may still be finding its footing in the global surf scene—but with coastlines that can match some of the best in the world, we’re finally on our first chapter.” — Mitali Joshi, Editor, Tracks India. 📸 @rango_08 @maldivessurfphotographer

Castles in the sky put it on the map and every couple years it’s revisited and reframed as a new discovery. However, little about the place has changed. Hit the link in our bio to read more about India’s mythologised wave. 📷 @benweiland @whoisram @alanvangysen
