MARQUEE WEDDINGS
I do love a marquee wedding. They feel personal, like you’ve created something entirely your own rather than stepping into a space that already exists. Not that you can’t do that with existing spaces mind you!
But in Perth, Western Australia specifically, they also require a level of planning that often gets underestimated.
A marquee is a blank canvas, yes, but it’s also a full build, and usually a minimum of 2 days at that. Flooring, a full on structure with walls and a roof, possible draping, partitions or internal walls, power all need to be considered. And we haven’t even got to the florals yet because shade, timing and airflow are all essential to make sure they stand the test of time, or at least 12-36 hours if you want them for your after party.
The difference between a marquee that feels effortless and one that feels uncomfortable comes down to thoughtful design and experienced execution. Every detail needs to be considered not just for how it looks, but how it feels for your guests.
If you’re considering a marquee wedding, think beyond the aesthetic, it’s just as important to think about the experience you’re creating.
