Join Tower Duo in Columbus, Ohio this February for “flora y fauna” at the Short North Stage. The show, sponsored by the @johnstonefund , is broadly about nature and each piece tackles that topic in a different and creative way (bird song, climate change, weather patterns, animal and plant life, etc.). It’ll be a multimedia experience with three world premieres, a variety of musical aesthetics, improvisation, video, soundscape fixed media, and even poetry! This free performance is on Tuesday, February 11th at 7pm at the Short North Stage!

Tower Duo had an AMAZING time performing and teaching in Cuba during the 15th Bienal de la Habana with masterclasses for the talented students of Conservatorio Amadeo Roldán and La Escuela Nacional de Música and with performances at the Casa Vitier García Marruz Cultural Center, the Palacio Del Conde de Lombillo, and Galeria Corral Falso 259. A very exciting new adventure is on the horizon for Tower Duo! In November, @erinhelgesontorres and @michaelrenetorres have been invited to perform in Havana, Cuba during the 15th Bienal de La Habana with other artists of all disciplines as representatives of the City of Columbus. Found it in 1984, the Bienal is one of the largest contemporary art festivals in all of Latin America and the Caribbean with artistic contributions from across the entire world. We’re very excited for what is sure to be a profound artistic opportunity and a deeply personal cultural experience!
We’re SOOO excited to perform “Mountains Upon Mountains, Like Waves Upon Waves” by @evanwilliamsmus this weekend with Maestro Peter Stafford Wilson and the @westsymph !!!
Rehearsals with the fabulous @limasymphonyorchestra are underway for the world premiere of composer/conductor Evan Williams’ concerto for flute, saxophone, and orchestra, “Mountains Upon Mountains, Like Waves Upon Waves”!
Tower Duo has had a wonderful time performing, hearing new music, celebrating with old and new friends, and exploring during the World Saxophone Congress in Gran Canaria, Spain!
