Shredding on Canadian composer Kelly-Marie Murphy’s viola and piano piece “Ad Lucem” at the Heidelberg New Music Festival with pianist Shi-An Costello. Our first time playing this magnificent music!
Another headshot by the amazing @cnathael and team @visumaproduction - an incredibly artistic professional media team dedicated to artists, architects, and the creative community.
Our residency at Interlochen was a highlight of the year because the students were inspiring; each of the composition students composed pieces for Marianne Parker and me. You can now listen to the world premieres of the pieces we gave because the video was just posted on the Interlochen web archives.
Thank you to each of the students, and a special TY to their teacher for asking us to collaborate with her studio. TY Cherie Can Maanen!

Any photographer that can make this short violist look this good is a true artist. This is the photographer you need to seek out.
Thank you, Christian Nathael Wijaya!
Celebrating poet Rebecca Morgan Franck with her evocative text set to music composed by Eric Malmquist and performed by the stellar mezzo-soprano Megan Ihnen. Happy Birthday, Rebecca!
What a dream team. Lucky to be along for the ride.
Standing before a full symphony orchestra, getting to play a viola concerto written for you = Priceless.
I’m eternally grateful every time I get the opportunity to be in this position. It’s never about me. It’s always about honoring the trust from the composers, conductors, orchestra members, and the audience. As viola players, we don’t get this opportunity as often as some other instrumentalists. But, we certainly cherish the opportunity. It truly feels like a community collaborating, taking artistic risks, and celebrating the fact that music is a living art.
Music by living composers ❤️❤️❤️
Thrilled to share ideas and to give a masterclass at the recent University of Wisconsin Green Bay “String Day.” This is a scene with me working with a student on weight distribution and posture so they can develop a more lively and spinning tone on viola. Thank you Luis Fernandez for inviting me to your campus!
With the Amazing Ron Silver - director and coordinator of the New Music Springfield Series at the University of Illinois Springfield. It was a honor to play a solo recital on his series in a spectacularly historic venue: the Senate Chambers of the Illinois Capital Building.
Thank you, Ron!
Playing Canadian composer Kelly-Marie Murphy’s incredibly fast and energetic viola and piano piece “Ad Lucem” with pianist Shi-An Costello at the Heidelberg New Music Festival. Seek out her music. Wow it’s fun!
